Our SERVPRO Technicians Work to Restore a Water Loss Incident in a NE Tucson Home

This video is a great example of what can happen when a manageable water damage situation continues for several days. The Tucson home that our technicians arrived to find nearly five hundred square feet of water damages originating from the bathroom.

The toilet supply line in this NE Tucson residence broke apart and allowed water to affect the floors and vanity of the bathroom area. When the break was undiscovered right away, this same water loss incident expanded out into the neighboring rooms and affected a variety of materials.

Initially, our SERVPRO technicians were on site to determine job costs to allow the insurance company to fund the restoration. This process is thorough, detailing every instance of water damage, what materials require removal and what tasks get performed to return this home to preloss condition.

As you can also see in the video, our project manager Tony Curry explains that the water damage happened almost immediately to areas of the bathroom and was evident to the naked eye when our SERVPRO team arrived. To gain access to flooring supports and subflooring material, carpeting in the adjacent room had already gotten removed by the time this short video was shot.

The cabinetry of the kitchen also required removal. This area suffered from pooling water which oversaturated the wood and required replacement. Flood cuts are to get made in the drywall behind the removed counter and cabinets to gain access to the wall cavity for better drying.

While it is always the focus of our SERVPRO restoration team to restore first and rebuild second, extensive water damages like this that persist for days before discovery often require tear outs and replacement materials to complete the restoration process.

Our focus is to be Faster To Any Size Disaster. Situations like these require expertise and experience to help you mitigate your loss and preserve what you can in the affected areas of the house. For any emergency, trust in the professional technicians we have at SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson. You can reach our rapid response team anytime by calling (520) 760-9352.
