First Time Working From Home
Working from Home
Like every other company out there, SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson and Oro Valley / Marana East has been fortunate to have employees set up and ready to work from home during this COVID-19 quarantine madness. This is both an accommodation and a challenge. Coming from a person who has never had to claim a section of the house as an office, I must say that it takes a lot of discipline to stay motivated.
One of the tips I received from one of my coworkers who has been working remotely for over 5 years is to have a designated workspace. Does not have to specifically be a room. A simple corner in the living room or dining area works best if you do not have a complete room. Avoid areas like your bedroom since you do not want to wake up to your company phone ringing and your computer staring at you while you sleep. The reason why is to have that separation of worlds and staying in the mentality of "I'm at work now" and not the "I'm cozy at home".
Not only is designating your work area important but also organizing your space to stay focused. There is no greater time killer than distraction. Now that everything is pretty much online, it is more tempting to check our social media and personal work. DO NOT DO IT! 1 Facebook minute turns into 30 minutes in real time. Be sure to place your phone aside and anything that is not work related. Of course distractions vary for everyone but as long as you make it a point to have your work space and time respected, these distractions can be minimal.
Taking breaks are important but do not let your snack or lunch break turn into 3 episodes of Designated Survivor on Netflix. True Story by the way... 5-15 minute breaks every hour should be enough to step away from the screen and step back into reality. Get a snack, walk outside, breathe in the fresh air, check your Tik Tok, make a Tik Tok, or anything that can make you smile. We are not robots so let us not act like them.
Now is the chance to mentally be your own supervisor and be accountable for yourself. Not having the supervision of your boss hovering over you or an officer manager giving you instructions and follow ups is another reason we lose motivation but again, it's a discipline to mentally put yourself in the state as if you were in the office. Staying organized and creating an agenda allows you to stay busy and focused.
Congratulations to those who have been doing this longer than most of us now-a-days! We are learning everyday how to be the best contractors for you during these times. Not only to provide customer and quality services at your home but also through the phone.
Sorry for your loss..
This week a young person in Tucson took their own life in an extremely violent manner. SERVPRO of Oro Valley / Marana East, at the request of their insurance agent performed a post-mortem clean up service after the coroner removed the body. This is one of the unintended consequences of social distancing, quarantining and isolation. Did he die from COVID-19? No, however, the isolation caused from this pandemic, is one of the unintended consequences not being discussed. I do not wish to argue the merits of the handling of the pandemic. If you have family members or friends that feel despair, please call for help! If you know people that are struggling with the isolation, reach out and check on their well-being. I know that this post-mortem cleanup service is one that SERVPRO franchises provide regularly, but it is the hardest job our SERVPRO technicians perform. Our technicians are trained to handle these situation and show compassion, dignity and respect while conducting this most somber task. Upon leaving we always extend our condolences with "Sorry For Your Loss." We are classified as essential workers but in my opinion, our technicians are the Unspoken Heroes!
If you or a family member are experiencing a more than difficult time during this social distancing and need professional help, please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at: 1-800-273-8255

Tucson - the biggest small town in the world
If I have said it once, I will say it again. There are 6 degrees of separation in the world and only 2 degrees of separation for Tucsonans! One night after my annual University of Arizona Rugby Reunion, a couple of old college friends decided to have a night cap at a local spot (Finn's Landing). As usual the discussion moved into politics of which I have no interest in discussing. I struck a conversation with the couple sitting next to me. Both of us local business owners commiserating over a broad spectrum of topics regarding life in Tucson and Oro Valley! Laughing over folks we both interact with and surprised our paths have not crossed before. At the end of the night we parted ways with the usual "I hope we never have to use the services of SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson". Well that chance encounter happened again but this time with a 5:30 AM call that their business Academy of Beauty had sustained a water damage. I look forward to renewing our friendship over the days ahead and thank you for allowing SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson the opportunity to serve. Thank you for supporting local businesses!!
Avoid Delays When Dealing With Fire Damage in Tucson
Regardless of the room that's facing fire damage, calling team SERVPRO is your best bet for effective remediation services.
Fire Damage Move Out and Cleanup in Tuscon Home
When SERVPRO helps local homeowners with fire damage in their homes, it goes further than cleaning up the charred sheetrock and smoke damage on the interior. One of the many goals of the techs is always to save homeowners the cost of replacement whenever possible through their cleaning methods.
Working on fire damage in a Tuscon kitchen and dining room, the techs found the kitchen table and chairs, and the dining room set had extensive smoke damage but no charring. Made from solid hardwood rather than composite materials, they had excellent prospects for restoration by cleaning. As the two rooms needed repairs, the techs moved out of the room contents for cleaning at the facility.
In-House Smoke Damage Removal Process
For the furniture, the techs have cleaning agents to release the hold of the smoke residues on surfaces. The techs test items before cleaning to ensure the correct agents get used, and articles do not get harmed from incorrect cleaning methods. Wood soaps work on well on finished wood surfaces as they clean gently without using harsh detergents or strong alkalis. The techs also have equipment such as the Esporta power washing machines for heavy residues. Glass and ceramic keepsakes get restored through the use of ultrasonic baths. Afterward, the items get held in secure storage until the home is ready for the pieces to get brought back into the house and set up.
Organization During Move-Out
When SERVPRO techs move out items during mitigation, they utilize a highly organized system known as the Contents Claim Inventory Service (CCIS) inventory protocol to manage the pathway of actions taken during the fire and smoke damage restoration process. It logs items packed out, including their location in the home and items that required disposal along with detailed descriptions and photos. This report also helps expedite the filing of insurance claims.
For fire damage cleanup call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson and SERVPRO of Oro Valley / Marana East at (520) 760-9352. The certified techs can use the latest technology and cleaning methods to restore your home to its preloss condition, "Like it never even happened."

Your Tucson Laundry Room is for Washing Clothes and ... Water Damage?
Check your laundry room often for signs of leaks and water damage.
Water Removal for a Tucson Laundry Room
Arizona homeowners are well aware of the expenses that can be incurred by water damage in their homes, but they may be surprised to know that the average cost of a home water damage claim is $6,965. Many residents do not typically have thousands to spend on home repairs after a disaster, which can add to the stress of the claims filing process. However, there is a team that can aid in lowering damage through emergency-response cleanup.
If your Tucson home has suffered water damage to a pipe leak or appliance failure in your laundry room, SERVPRO technicians are one phone call away from providing a comprehensive cleanup service that restores your home. It only takes 24 to 48 hours before water damage creates an environment that allows mold, bacteria, and odors to thrive. Fast action is necessary to eliminate the risk these contaminants can bring into your home.
Why Your Utility Sink Might Be Leaking
- Clogged plumbing. Pressure from pipe clogs can wear down joints or expand them, which can allow water to come through.
- Holes in pipes. If you notice a pinhole leak in your pipes, shut off the water supply as soon as possible. A crack even 1/8" in size can release dozens of gallons of water into your home which causes water damage.
- Old or worn parts.Should you live in an older home or one with original components, the use of such plumbing materials may not hold up to strong drain cleaners, which can eat away at pipes and cause leaks.
SERVPRO Eliminates Water Damage
After technicians evaluate and mitigate water from the affected area in your laundry room with portable extractors, additional cleanup may be necessary for interior walls that may have suffered damage. Technicians can remove baseboards to drill small holes between wall studs to facilitate ventilation in the affected area.
If the water damage is extensive, parts of the drywall may require removal and replacement. Before trying to clean your walls, however, technicians consult with you and your adjuster.
SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson serves the community with cleanup that is Faster to Any Size Disaster. Call (520) 760-9352 to receive mitigation services from an IICRC-certified team.

Water Removal Needs in Tucson Affect Different Types of Flooring
When water damage happens in a home, water follows both gravity and the path of least resistance in its journey downward. The result is that the floor tends to receive the brunt of the loss.
Finding where the water removal needs to occur in Tucson properties is something SERVPRO techs excel at, due to their use of state-of-the-art moisture detection equipment. Their different types of devices can "see" within walls and underflooring to find areas of water migration that are not readily visible on the surface.
Knowledge and experience make the difference between a good restoration services job and a great one. The technicians have extensive training and certification using the parameters as defined by The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC), which sets the standard for the inspection, cleanup, and restoration industries.
Methods of Water Removal
Depending on the amount and type of water loss in the home, the techs choose from various techniques and equipment for extraction. They have portable pumps with weighted extractor heads for pushing as much moisture as possible out of carpet and upholstery, which speeds up the drying process. Squeegees get used on tile and laminate flooring to draw the water off the surface efficiently. In cases of standing water higher than two-inches deep, there are no delays in the cleanup as the submersible pumps work to get the job done.
Why Extra Passes are Necessary
During the water extraction phase of the restoration services, SERVPRO techs often perform extra passes with their removal equipment, particularly on the carpet. This attention to detail assists in removing as much moisture as possible has the potential to lessen the time needed for drying.
Drying Goals and Monitoring
To ensure the water extraction and drying efforts eradicated the water loss, technicians set drying goals and carefully monitor the ambient humidity to ensure they attain the preset aims. Once dry, they commonly scope the room to determine if any residual moisture remains. This action helps to avoid various types of secondary losses.
SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352 when you need fast water removal. The certified technicians have professional-grade equipment and methods to make the water loss, "Like it never even happened."

How SERVPRO Handles Commercial Water Damage Restoration in Tucson
No matter the size or scope of the water damage, SERVPRO is always available to take your call.
Exterior Desiccant Dehumidifiers, Ducting and Commercial Water Damage Restoration in Tucson
As the owner of an independent retail outlet, you may utilize off-site storage to hold stock as well as manufacture products. These storage spaces may be in industrial parks on the outskirts of the city. Usually, ample storage spaces like this lack essential insulation and can be prone to weaknesses in the overall structure. These weaknesses may allow rainwater to seep into the building and begin affecting the stock. Since storage warehouses are not regularly accessed, you may find that a water issue becomes prominent and requires large equipment to rectify.
Our services encompass commercial water damage restoration here in Tucson. Using larger equipment requires expertise as well as the resources to mobilize and deploy equipment quickly. Crew chiefs of SERVPRO have qualifications from the Institute of inspection, cleaning, and restoration certifications (IICRC) so you can trust them to manage your restoration needs efficiently and professionally. Restorers can communicate with you from start to finish to ensure that you are kept in the loop throughout.
When restoring an ample open space like a storage warehouse, there may be a need to create smaller drying zones. Evaporation is typically slower in more substantial areas because creating the requisite heat, airflow, and dehumidification requires more powerful equipment. To combat this, SERVPRO water restoration technicians may create drying tents. These are large sheets of polyethylene that are held to the floor using sandbags. Technicians can then apply air flow inflating the tent while ensuring that they subject wet floors to a concentrated drying.
Sometimes drying a more substantial space may benefit from using more extensive equipment. Ductwork allows SERVPRO technicians to seal the building and use large exterior desiccant dehumidifiers. Ducting in this way requires an intake duct to circulate dry air into the property and exhaust to remove moist, humid air. There are security security issues to consider when ducting a property, and SERVPRO members can stay on-site throughout the process to ensure there is no unlawful entry.
Restoring large spaces requires first-hand experience as well as industrial drying equipment. Contact SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352 now.

SERVPRO Mitigates Fire Damage to Structures in Tucson with Board-Up Services
Reducing Inconveniences After Fire Damage Incidents in Tucson
A fire incident in Tucson can have different outcomes, including forcing occupants to vacate the premises for cleanup, repairs, and other restoration steps. These movements create inconveniences and introduce additional costs to the original loss. A professional fire damage restorer like SERVPRO can help reduce the costs and nuisances.
Boarding up the premises
After the blaze that leads to fire damage loss in Tucson is put out, many homeowners believe the worst is over. However, deterioration is likely to continue and especially when the property is unoccupied. Some actions such as, heat from the flames that shatters windows or holes punched through the walls by firefighters to access the seat of the fire, leave openings around the property. Through these openings, weather elements can damage the interior of the house. Our SERVPRO technicians can prevent such problems by immediately boarding-up the property after the loss. We prefer more secure options such as bolt with tension board up instead of just covering openings with plywood under extreme weather or damage.
Unless it is a catastrophic fire incident, there is a need to run utilities such as heating in the house. Unfortunately, since fire is likely to damage cable insulations leaving bare wires, restoring power takes more than just flicking a switch. Our SERVPRO technicians can inspect wires for physical damage. We also use circuit checkers to verify normal current flow before reconnecting appliances. Safety always comes first.
Apart from severe damages, minor issues can develop in the aftermath of a fire incident. Residues such as soot can stain some surfaces deeply, causing permanent damage. Stone surfaces such as granite countertops and metal finishes like chrome are susceptible to this type of damage. Our SERVPRO technicians prevent on-going damage by pre-cleaning surfaces and applying a thin film of lubricant. Such steps also help reduce the work needed to restore the property, thus improving the turnaround time.
A fire loss can cause many inconveniences. Call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352 to help take steps that deal with the damage, "Like it never even happened."

Using Air Filtration to Tackle Water Damage Odors Lingering in your Tucson Home
With all types of water containing at least some types of microbe, there is a real risk of unpleasant odors permeating your home after a water incident. Sometimes cleaning and drying the property does not remove the odor that has become air-borne or settles into fabrics and upholstery. As most homeowners do not own specialist deodorizing equipment, these issues can be hard to remedy with the professional assistance of a restorer.
You may want to take a pro-active approach to water damage in your Tucson home. Allowing maximum airflow into the structure can lower drying times while also helping to ship out unpleasant odors. Household cleaning products like disinfectant or bleach can further ensure that the odor-causing elements are destroyed. However, issues like rising humidity and problems with indoor air-quality can resist the everyday air-fresheners found in your home.
While specializing in water damage restoration (WRT) many SERVPRO restorers are also qualified odor control technicians (OCT.) Odor control is a multi-faceted skillset covering cleaning, drying as well as deodorizing properties. There are also scientific considerations for restoration. The human nose picks up odors intensely when there is lots of moisture in the air. Since water issues can raise humidity levels, it is not uncommon for odors to become more noticeable in the aftermath of a water incident.
Reducing relative humidity as well as odor-causing particles, is slower than drying or removing water. SERVPRO can tackle this issue efficiently by using air filtration devices (AFD.) AFDs circulate air while filtering out unpleasant elements. Often, SERVPRO AFDs use high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters to remove odor particles from an indoor space. Equipment which combines air circulation with filtering can be exceptionally efficient in areas of the home that have a restrictive flow like staircases, hallways, or a storage area. By using them, we can restore your home quicker than you might expect.
Maximum efficiency in restoration is what allows homeowners to get with their everyday lives regardless of the emergency at hand. Contact SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352.

Slow Ceiling Leak Causes Water Damage in Tucson.
Let us help you save your Tucson home from a slow water leak.
A slow leak in your Tucson home can cause more damage than you realize.
It is never a good sign when water spots appear on the ceiling. It is a safe bet there is some level of water damage that has occurred.
In the case of a home in Tucson, water damage caused by a slow leak in the ceiling accumulated over time until it ruined the sheetrock panels and the taped seams. This resulted in the need for controlled demolition in the form of a partial tear-out of the ceiling down to the raw joists and sheathing so the necessary plumbing repairs could occur.
Purpose of Controlled Demolition
When building materials require removal from the home, SERVPRO technicians cut them cleanly away to make the repairs as fast and easy as possible for both the plumbing and the cosmetic renovations necessary to restore the ceiling to its preloss condition.
Drying the Water Loss Area
To be sure all areas of excessive moisture get attention, SERVPRO technicians use their advanced moisture detection equipment to scope the room and make sure there are no other areas that show elevated water vapor levels. After removal of the damaged sheetrock panels, the technicians use air movers aimed upwards to dry the ceiling and also drying mats above to force warm, dry air downward to ensure the affected area dried completely.
SERVPRO technicians found no signs of mold growth, but when a surface has exposure to water over a lengthy period, proactive treatments to avoid mold are a smart course of action. The techs used an antimicrobial sealant on the joists and open area as soon as it was dry to inhibit any mold growth.
Assisting Homeowners After Completion
A standard part of service is ensuring homeowners are happy with the work done. Once the mitigation completes, a technician walks the homeowner through the process and shows them the necessary actions. They also note any necessary repairs needed to restore the home entirely.
When water damage happens to your property, call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352. The certified technicians can clean up and restore the home to its preloss condition, "Like it never even happened."

Some Ways to Avoid Issues with Fire Damage Remediation in Tucson
Our expert technicians tailor the remediation process to the extent of the damage in your home. Available 24/7 to take your call.
Cleaning Techniques for Fire Damaged Surfaces in Tucson Homes
Cleaning is a vital element to the recovery of your Tucson home after a fire. As challenging as existing in the residence can feel after even mild structure fires have occurred, effective cleaning and restoration practices can make you homeowners more comfortable. Our SERVPRO professionals have practical techniques and potent products to return damaged surfaces in your home to their preloss condition.
Depending on the severity of threats like smoke and soot residues, various cleaning practices are necessary to restore fire damage in Tucson homes. Abrasive techniques like media blasting can remove set-in soot from surfaces like countertops, and also help to reduce present odors, but agitative cleaning techniques are better suited to the needs of other surfaces and contents throughout the damaged residence.
The choice made in the type of cleaning practice our SERVPRO team uses depends on the thickness of soot residue on the surface. Because this film is acidic, sensitive materials can quickly become marred and stained under direct exposure to soot particles. Addressing these concerns begins with loosening the layer of soot and smoke sediment using agitative cleaning practices.
Preconditioning or pre-cleaning are the terms used for loosening and removing the majority of residues and oils from a designated surface or material. Dry cleaning processes like vacuuming, brushing, and the use of compressed air can have an effective result in removing most of the damaging layer of acidic soot. Abrasive cleaning techniques, including soda blasting, can have a more direct approach on lingering grit, carbon, and smoke particles. Given the specific surface in question and how severe the layer of soot particles is, various techniques might get employed to regain control of a fire-damaged property.
Cleaning is a necessary component to making fire losses “Like it never even happened.” Despite how devastating these disasters can be, our SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson team has the training and the cleaning agents to help. Between our agitative cleaning techniques to break residues loose from surfaces to foam, wiping, and abrasive methods, we can restore the look and feel of many damaged materials after a fire. Give us a call anytime at (520) 760-9352.

Some Steps to Water Damage Remediation Success in Tucson
Whatever the source of the water damage incident in your home, SERVPRO can help! Call right away for best results.
Why Extraction is Vital to Water Recovery for Tucson Homes
Water loss incidents vary from one Tucson home to the next, but substantial losses require immediate responses from qualified professionals. Situations like plumbing breaks or appliance failures can leave hundreds, or even thousands, of gallons of water on the floor of your house. Extraction is a vital element to restoring the property after this incident, and failure to do this efficiently can become a costly situation for area homeowners.
Removing any excess water from a structure is essential to reducing the time the drying of water damage in Tucson homes ultimately takes. When a need for water removal exists, we can rely on our extraction and evaporation approaches. Extraction is a favored option because of its versatility in application and equipment. Evaporation is still a standard element to drying and restoration of water loss incidents but rarely applied when standing water still exists. Our SERVPRO team must assess the situation to determine the best approach for water removal.
Pumping is one of the first approaches that can begin extraction work, as this is ideal when standing water conditions exceed two inches in depth. Above this level, the submersible point of the pump can pull in water and discharge it through the drain hose to a designated place. At two inches and below, the air becomes a factor with the performance of these pumps, and prime cannot stay engaged to pull new water from the damaged area.
Wet-vacuuming is a popular option for removing excess water as well, and one that follows pumping. This practice is ideal for depths below two inches, as you do not need a primed pumping machine. Instead, you have stationary and portable units that work like a vacuum’s suction to remove standing water from any flooring type. We have specialty tools and accessories for vacuums that can work to make moisture removal from carpets more efficient, as well.
Our professionals must work quickly when faced with substantial loss incidents that deposit excessive water throughout your home. Through facets of extraction, we can quickly reach a point where drying options are possible. Give our SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson team a call anytime that you need us at (520) 760-9352.

Commercial Water Damage in a Tucson Hospital Calls or Effective Restoration

Water Damage Restoration With SERVPRO
Hospitals work with accreditation organizations, professional groups, and quality experts to provide a safe environment for patients and their families. They ensure that their patients are safe by investing in the latest technology, hiring competent staff, and keeping floors and other surfaces clean. If a water loss issue occurs, the hospital's facilities management needs to look for an experienced restoration company to help restore the facilities to normal and safe operations as quickly as possible.
Several factors can cause commercial water damage in a Tucson hospital, such as equipment defects and corroded pipes. A hospital should hire a certified restoration firm that has experience with hospital procedures and guidelines to complete the water restoration project. Restoring a hospital after a water loss problem is more stringent and involved than other commercial projects. Our SERVPRO crew can help you restore your hospital after a minor water loss.
It is crucial to handle water damage within the first 24 hours to prevent mold growth that can affect the health of patients. Our crew can use equipment like electric submersible pumps to remove the water. These pumps eradicate the suction lift limitations and offer continuous, quiet operation, which is welcome in a healthcare facility. We can also clean, sanitize, and disinfect the water-damaged areas because clean water can turn into gray or black water, leading to health risks.
Our team can also dry the affected areas properly to avoid structural damage and mold growth. We have the technical know-how to dry affected surfaces using air moving and dehumidifying equipment. We can complete the water remediation task efficiently to ensure that the hospital is clean, safe, and protected throughout the entire process. We can keep the hospital's heads of departments and infectious control updated about the restoration process.
SERVPRO remediation experts understand that certain areas need to meet high standards of restoration for surface cleanliness and air quality authorization to return the ruined areas of the health facility to full operation. When completing restoration work in a hospital, it is necessary to call in an industrial hygienist to determine if any health and safety concerns are present and design solutions to prevent them. The hygienist can examine the areas we have worked on for legal reasons and to ensure the safety of patients.
We can work with your insurance firm and bill it directly. We know the detailed documentation and remediation procedures insurers expect to see to ensure hassle-free contents and property claims processing.

Why SERVPRO is the Choice for Water Damaged Floors in Tucson
Water damages hardwood floors fast, but not all is always lost. SERVPRO has the equipment to dry your floors and restore your home.
Specialty Drying Tools for Cost-Effective Restoration in Tucson
Many homeowners have a rudimentary understanding of our drying and restoration process after water losses in Tucson residences. We do not deviate significantly from a winning formula that has allowed us to help hundreds of households over our time serving the area. Also, we have many lesser-known recovery tools for specific situations to maximize our progress even more.
The bulk of recovering water damage in Tucson homes hinges on the use of our high-velocity air movers. We also use a combination of dehumidification units. Desiccants and low grain refrigerant machines can help to pull moisture out of damaged areas and even replace this moist air with drier, warmer exhaust. The fast turnaround of this combination of machines and tools has made this approach the standard response of our SERVPRO team for much of the water restoration tasks that we face. When certain materials get affected, or unique situations arise, we must utilize a selection of our specialty drying tools to help.
Large Drying Mats
Drying mats are an ideal choice for the hardwood that becomes saturated by standing water and underlying leaks. Because this damage can penetrate more deeply than the planks itself, Drying mats get placed perpendicular to the seams of the flooring planks to maximize the draw of moisture from the wood and the support beneath it.
Structural cavities can often contend with the brunt of water loss effects, especially if the origin of these damages began with plumbing breaches in this same wall space. To reduce the need for tear-out and reconstruction, we can remove baseboards and insert hoses into drilled holes to force heated air into these cavities to aid in drying efforts.
Weighted Extractor Ride-Ons
These devices are essential when carpeted flooring has become saturated by standing water. Because there are several layers even beyond the surface carpet, weighted extractors force water and moisture to the surface from subflooring, padding, and the carpet itself. An onboard vacuum can remove this moisture and speed up further drying efforts.
Water loss incidents can be a challenge, but our SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson team is up to the task. Let us show you how we can make this emergency “Like it never even happened.” Call us today at (520) 760-9352.

Can We Protect Saturated Carpets in Your Tucson Home?
Severe water loss incidents can be challenging to sufficiently address, especially for Tucson homeowners that wait prolonged periods before reaching out to professional restoration teams like ours. With standing water quickly becoming a widespread concern throughout the property, our team must find the best solutions to address these conditions without wasting more time. When removing water and moisture from the carpets, we have a specific approach that has proven effective.
Water removal for Tucson homes can be especially difficult when attempting to reduce moisture levels and saturation in flooring materials like carpet. Even with short pile options, the fibers, subflooring, and padding can all absorb more substantial amounts of water damage. Reducing this damage comes down to the specific equipment and techniques used by our qualified SERVPRO professionals. Between our Carpet Cleaning Technicians (CCT) and our Water Restoration Technicians (WRT) endorsed through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), we have the right personnel that can protect the integrity and appearance of a wet, soiled carpet.
Carpets might not always show the severity of their damages, especially when they can absorb considerable water before standing water begins on the surface. We have numerous extraction options that can help with damaged carpeting like this, beginning with our ride-on weighted extractors. These remote-controlled options can carry a technician in continual motion across the damaged areas of the carpet. The objective of this heavy unit is to force moisture and water up from the subflooring level to the surface. Our extractors have an onboard vacuum system to pull the uprooted water away from the area.
These efforts do not always ensure that we can protect your carpeting in the house, however. In truth, there are many situations in which the damage is too severe to protect the flooring, and the only acceptable solution for our SERVPRO professionals is to remove it and set the area up for reinstallation of new materials after drying has completed.
With carpeting being such an everyday staple in modern construction, homes that experience substantial water loss must often contend with its effects on this flooring. No matter how severe, our SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson team can make water losses “Like it never even happened.” Give us a call today at (520) 760-9352.

What to Do Before Help With Water Removal Arrives at Your Tucson Home
It can be hard to think straight when you suddenly have gallons of water gushing in your home. Whether it is a pipe break, water heater tank failure or other cause, there are ways to minimize loss before help arrives.
SERVPRO arrives quickly after the call for water removal at a Tucson home, but during the time in between, homeowners can take action to assist with the cleanup. If it is safe to do so, moving furnishings or items on the floor to another area unaffected by water helps in limiting loss.
The equipment makes the difference in an “okay” cleanup job and a thorough one. If any moisture remains, it has the potential to create problems ranging from unpleasant odors to mold infestations. The technicians scope the property before, during, and after to confirm complete water extraction occurred.
Specialized Water Extraction Equipment
Cleaning up a water loss involves more than mopping up water and setting up fans. The removal of water requires different kinds of equipment, such as weighted extractor heads for carpeting and squeegees for tile. Attachments for use on upholstery help remove the bulk of water enabling restoration of furnishings that may otherwise have been a loss.
Ceilings and Floor Joists with Water
When water damage comes through a ceiling to the story below, it is a good bet there is water in the floor joists or space between floors. SERVPRO technicians use techniques such as drilling weep holes to allow drainage and cut away damaged sheetrock for greater airflow during drying. Targeted drying equipment such as drying mats assist with forcing air into spaces such as wall cavities and floor joists to ensure they dry completely.
Drying the Home Thoroughly
Centrifugal air movers deliver air at speeds that cause a reaction making embedded moisture rise. Any water left within floors, walls, or ceilings after extraction gets removed in this manner. The result is an arid area ready for hand cleaning and disinfection.
When you need fast water removal from your property, contact SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352. The technicians are ready 24/7 to handle any size water spill in your home and make it “Like it never even happened.”

Hazards Your Tucson Home Faces After Flood Damage
Flood water contains contaminants. SERVPRO has the ability to dry and disinfect your home. Call us today!
Post Flooding Threats Your Tucson Home Might Face
Many Tucson homeowners believe that the bulk of the issues that their home faces during an emergency happens when exposure initially occurs. Instances like flooding can continually affect your home long after the disaster, and without the appropriate professional intervention, can reach a point where contamination and degradation are too severe to overcome with our initial recovery efforts. Understanding the ongoing threats that your property faces can help homeowners to appreciate the expertise and experience of our professionals during this crisis.
Flood damage to Tucson homes can come in a variety of severities, and many of even the most threatened of these properties reached this point without pursuing adequate extraction and cleaning for the house. Regardless if you have insurance coverage that helps with flooding and the restoration of this disaster, professional recovery teams like our SERVPRO water restoration crew can help to keep the costs to a minimum but still offer effective extraction and drying for compromised structural elements.
Some homeowners have insurance coverage for flooding or storm damage, but this is a situation that you must discuss directly with your provider. An agent can take you through the process so that you are aware of what can get covered by your plan and the role of professional restorers in helping to meet the standards of this insurance provider.
Contamination is also a threat that many homes and houses might have to contend with, especially in the monsoon season, when flooding can occur from the rise of water bodies surrounding a home in the area. We have a full-service division of licensed contractors that can help with cutting and removing trees, emergency construction solutions, and complete build back once mitigation completes.
As much as standing water and potential contamination might seem overwhelming and hazardous, our SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson team can help. Our Certified Professionals Have A Rapid Response Time In Tucson
Our team has the state-of-the-art equipment and experience to make it “Like it never even happened.”
Elevated Flood Risks During Tucson’s Monsoon Season
The summertime is an ideal portion of the year to experience the worst weather that Arizona has to offer, and many Tucson homes and businesses suffer the consequences of these hazardous conditions. Of the average twelve inches of rain expected annually around this region, much of this occurs during the monsoon season stretching from June through September.
Monsoon season brings about a higher humidity, which can open the door for thunderstorms, torrential rains, dust storms, and even flash flood damage to Tucson properties. As much as many residents work to safeguard their properties as much as possible from this potentially dangerous situation, others still get caught by surprise when their property becomes flooded. Because of the increased risks of situations like flash flooding, it is imperative to have a plan in place to recover your house and keep your family safe.
Develop a Plan
You should always have the best interest of your family in mind when emergencies occur. Even if you do not readily prepare for the possibility of flooding, a conversation about what you expect your family to do and where you intend to meet up can work to protect them in this crisis.
Call the Professionals
Our SERVPRO professionals have a rapid response and remain prepared throughout monsoon season to mobilize and help any residence or business affected by extreme weather conditions. We have premier equipment and products that can help us to overcome standing water, such as our wet-vac wands and ROVER weighted extractors. Our licensed in-house contractors can also help with areas of emergency construction and full-scale reconstruction when necessary.
Keep Your Distance
It can be tempting to rush back into a flood damage house to begin collecting the treasured belongings you left behind. With the likelihood of damaged utilities, this could be a fatal mistake under the right circumstances. Only re-enter a home when certified professionals like our SERVPRO team or any first responders deem it safe to do so.
You cannot prepare for the destructive storms and weather events that can develop during the monsoon season, as many have the power and unpredictability to cause flash flooding or structural damages that lead to flooding as well. No matter how this damage develops, our SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson water restoration specialists can help. Give us a call anytime at (520) 760-9352.

SERVPRO's Knowledge and Training Help Preserve Your Water Damaged Home and Possessions
We removed all of the water and thoroughly dried this home. We have the equipment and training to handle the job.
Why Understanding Materials Helps SERVPRO Handle Water Removal Better in Tucson Homes
Water spills are not only disruptive but can also cause significant losses through the deterioration of materials. Luckily, taking corrective steps early enough can help reduce the impact such an incident has on your Tucson property. Water removal professional's knowledge base also helps s them approach the problem from a better perspective than just placing extraction equipment at the loss site.
The rate of vapor flow through a material can affect the process of water removal in your Tucson home. Materials with high levels of permeance like carpets absorb water quickly but also release it fast. Using methods such as extraction can help remove water fast from such materials. Wooden floors have lower permeance and therefore take longer to absorb water. However, given sufficient time, they do absorb water, which can cause a wide range of issues, including swelling, buckling, and other physical changes. Our SERVPRO technicians use specialized techniques such as utilizing drying chambers to improve moisture removal in such cases.
Dealing with Vapor Barriers
Barriers can hamper the efficiency of water removal. For water, seepage into wall cavities or subfloors can create such barriers. For the moisture that penetrates materials, various other barriers hamper removal. The common ones our SERVPRO technicians encounter include:
- Masonry brick
- Plastic Sheeting
- Semi-gloss or gloss paint
- Paper-faced insulation
Although most materials become wet through direct water spills, others can absorb moisture from the air. If several materials have such properties, it can hinder progress during water removal processes. In your house, several items might have hygroscopic properties. The most common ones include unfaced insulation, gypsum wall, particleboard, and upholstery items. Our SERVPRO technicians counter such problems in different ways. We use pack-out services to protect contents and venting dehumidifiers to prevent the recirculation of moisture.
Water removal can be tedious. Call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson to assist. You can reach us at (520) 760-9352 any time to help make it, "Like it never even happened."

What to Expect During Home Flood Damage Cleanup in Tucson
While Arizona has a reputation for being a dry, desert state, it also has heavy Monsoon-like rains, particularly in the late summer and early fall. When large amounts of rain descend upon the hardened ground, there is little absorption, and flash floods bring flood damage to properties in their path.
Handling flood damage in a Tucson home requires fast action. SERVPRO technicians work quickly to determine the scope of the water loss in the house and try to identify contents with restoration potential.
Relocation is Best During Mitigation
Because of the potential contaminants present in groundwater, SERVPRO frequently advises homeowners to relocate during mitigation to avoid exposure to the water and also to limit the potential for cross-contamination to unaffected areas of the home.
Thorough Documentation of Each Item Handled
A common frustration among homeowners during flood damage mitigation is the feeling of a lack of control. Although SERVPRO technicians examine and make recommendations as to the restorability of building materials and contents, they discard nothing without the approval of either the homeowner or adjuster. A detailed record that includes descriptions as well as before and after photos of each item assists with transparency during cleanup efforts as well as expediting the insurance claims process.
Safety During Mitigation
To limit the possibility of cross-contamination during cleanup of the home, containment around the work area and vents to inhibit the spread of aerosolized contaminants. Between the work area and the rest of the property, a decontamination chamber is often set up to allow for a space to clean off equipment and change into or out of protective gear to avoid the spread of any substances resident in the water.
Protection of Home Contents
Each worksite has individual qualities. In some cases, due to high humidity indoors that has the potential for damage, a pack out of the home contents to another area of the home away from the work area or in SERVPRO's secure storage during restoration services.
SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352 is prepared 24/7 to assist homeowners with flood damage in their homes. The technicians are extensively trained and have both the experience and equipment to make the water loss in your home "Like it never even happened."

Water Heater Malfunctions Damage Tucson Homes
Even with the more modern installations of tankless water heaters, both traditional tanked options and the tankless versions can allow damage to your Tucson home under the right conditions. Often breaches in this system can result from backpressure building a considerable distance from your house in the main utility line supplying your lane with water. A forceful pressure in this mainline can force water back through your service with more force than fixtures can withstand, and can rupture supply lines to your water heater, or damage the tank itself.
Preventing this type of water damage in Tucson homes might be easier said than done. Because of the susceptibility of these appliances to breaches and leaks, newer construction codes dictate the installation of a drip pan and drain system beneath the unit, but this does little to stop the spray of pressurized water. Regardless of how the appliance has become damaged, the contents of a tank or the endless flow of your service line can quickly flood the area around the water heater.
Our SERVPRO professionals might not have the expertise to repair the water damage caused to your water heater, but we do have the extensive training and experience to handle all degrees of water damage your property might face. With our deep inventory of extraction and drying equipment, we can address standing water before absorption becomes too severe, and saturation leads to distortion and degradation of the affected materials.
We have multiple extraction tools available with the arrival of our SERVPRO Green Fleet. From highly portable options like our electric sump pumps and wet-vacs to more powerful trash pumps and extractor trucks, we have a tool to suit every need that your home has. We can work to get drying started as quickly as possible. Our efficient response in these crises can protect your property from unnecessary tear-out and reconstruction. While we have a team of general contractors able to help with controlled demolition techniques to reduce the time build back takes, preventing this need in the first place is the best solution for your home.
Water heater malfunctions might seem like a far-fetched occurrence, but these emergencies happen more often than you might think. Our SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson professionals can respond quickly with the personnel and equipment to help. We can make water loss “Like it never even happened” when you call (520) 760-9352.

The Advantage of SERVPRO Restoration for Tucson Homes
SERVPRO can and will show you the advantage to restoration in Tucson.
Let us guide you through restoration in Tucson.
As the second largest city in the state, Tucson is home to more than half a million residents before the neighboring regions and areas become part of the statistic. Our SERVPRO team has continued to grow and build, year after year, to become the capable and efficient company it is today. We know that disasters strike at all hours, and with such a large service area, new problems arise every day. We have sought out the best restoration technicians, acquired the best equipment, and sought out the best certification programs and training through organizations like the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) to be one of the best choices homeowners can make when disaster strikes.
With substantial properties that we service like the University of Arizona, a single water loss incident could affect hundreds of people simultaneously. As such, water recovery and restoration practices need to be well understood and implemented to shave time and reduce costs for mitigation and restoration processes. Water damage in Tucson homes and businesses can quickly get out of control without these practical strategies, so we encourage regular in-house education for our technicians to keep them sharp with the latest equipment, methods, and products available.
Our successes as Water Restoration Technicians (WRT) stems from the union of this continued training and our inventory of cutting-edge and high-capacity equipment. With levels of every recovery tool we use from the extraction options to rapid drying solutions, we can tailor the equipment needed precisely to the severity of water damage in your Tucson property.
A vital component of this recovery process beyond the extraction and drying efforts is protecting property against secondary damages that could result from improper or inadequate cleaning and drying. A typical response from our professionals in a water loss incident is to spray exposed surfaces and materials with antimicrobial sprays and cleaning products to make them uninhabitable to developing mold organisms that can further threaten Tucson homes.
If our SERVPRO professionals cannot adequately address this lingering moisture in a Tucson home with the antimicrobial sprays and rapid drying efforts, mold damage can ensue. It is vital for our IICRC-Certified Applied Microbial Remediation Technicians to work immediately to get this situation under control because mold effects can spread quickly from one organic material to another.
Hosting materials can suffer degradation and deterioration over a brief period, ultimately requiring controlled demolition and later replacement by competent construction professionals. Allowing the organism to spread also presents health concerns for those exposed to the colonies in our Tucson home or business. Our professionals have a well-orchestrated response based on years of experience to efficiently get the area contained and work to safely remove the thriving organism while actively seeking to protect installed construction materials.
No remediation task is complete unless we can address not only the mold damage in Tucson properties but also the threat of recurrence. From the installation of permanent dehumidification equipment to repairs that your home might need to reduce dampness in poorly ventilated areas, we want our customers to be free of this damaging condition for good.
While many circumstances can quickly and severely threaten the structural integrity and defenses of your Tucson property, few times of the year are quite as damaging and fierce as monsoon season. Through the summer months, powerful and highly-damaging storm systems can develop with little warning to level structures, damage roofs and siding, and even drop trees. As much as many homeowners attempt to implement precautionary measures like reinforcement, property owners are more encouraged to look out for themselves and the safety of their families during these dangerous weather events.
Especially during this monsoon season, flood and storm damage in Tucson is worse than any other point throughout the year. Some storms have the power and longevity for several inches of rain, which could present risks like flash flooding as well. Our SERVPRO professionals have tailored restoration services based on the severity of this standing water and the effect on your house from wet-vacs with extraction wands to our 300 psi extractor truck.
We can provide emergency board up and roof tarping in a crisis as well, which can reduce immediate flooding and other elemental damages. This solution also opens the doors for mitigation to begin, which can get followed closely by full-scale repairs and reconstruction efforts for your Tucson home involving our experienced IICRC-Certified professionals and contracting specialists.
While the area has been fortunate compared to neighboring states like California, the possibility for wildfires and similar natural disasters exist almost invariably in the long dry heat spells common to the Tucson region. It is because of these same high-heat conditions that many of the houses and commercial structure fires burn at a higher temperature and produce a dry smoke.
Though dry smoke residue is easier to clean from surfaces and contents than its wet smoke counterpart, dry smoke fires burn faster and more furiously, ultimately creating more substantial fire damage conditions in Tucson residences. We have state of the art products and equipment that can help to begin cleaning affected surfaces and contents that can remain in the house after extinguishment. It is our intention, whether through controlled demolition or on-site recovery to get you back into the damaged property quickly.
Whether you must contend with a structure fire that develops exclusively in your Tucson residence or combat the smoke and soot effects that are common after wildfires, you need experienced professionals to help. Because We’re Faster To Any Size Disaster, we can protect your property with immediate repair solutions and comprehensive mitigation approaches that can improve multiple damaging conditions simultaneously.
We know that serving Tucson means that we have many homes and businesses always depending on us to provide the high-caliber work we advertise by our slogan, “Like it never even happened.” No matter when disasters strike and what structures become affected, you can count on our SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson professionals to work quickly to get things back to normal for you. Emergency Mitigation Is Essential To Restoring Your Tucson Home After A Fire
You can contact SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson 24 hours a day at (520) 760-9352.
The Essential Role Of Emergency Mitigation Services For Fire Damage In Your Tucson Home
There is a distinguishable difference between emergency services and restoration services. In medium-scale fire-related incidents, emergency services can be provided in the immediate aftermath of the event to minimize disruption to the homeowner, reduce the claim expense, and reduce potential damages to property. Some of these can be as simple as a homeowner placing old linen or colorfast towel onto carpets to prevent cooling soot from falling directly onto it and causing further losses.
A property requiring emergency services for fire damage in Tucson may show signs of structural weakness or need a major reconstruction effort to get back to its preloss condition. During this period, a restorer needs to perform several duties to ensure the safety of anyone entering the property as well as to reduce the potential claims expense by performing small, but vital, mitigation tasks.
Among these vital mitigation procedures, is the securing of the immediate structure. SERVPRO can conduct a thorough safety inspection then board up areas of the home that may have become exposed to avoid intrusions into the home overnight. Water used in firefighting procedure must be urgently dried to prevent soots from settling or microbial growth issues. We may need to deodorize the affected area and restore power to the property.
Initial cleaning may be beneficial to structural contents like carpets as well as salvageable possessions. Some smoke residues may be acidic, which can cause permanent damages to surfaces throughout prolonged exposure. Cleaning methods SERVPRO can employ may include pre-cleaning carpets or clearing away soots from areas that are most heavily affected during this procedure we can also dispose of charred materials that may cause you distress.
Emergency restoration procedures involve stopping further damages as well as preparing the structure for the remodeling, repair, or reconstruction tasks required to get it back to a preloss condition. You can contact SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson 24 hours a day at (520) 760-9352.

What is the Best Equipment to Dry Water Damaged Tucson Homes?
Sometimes seemingly small water damage is really a big restoration job. SERVPRO is available 24/7 to dry your home.
The Equipment You Need to Dry Your Tucson Home
DIY restoration is becoming more and more of a standard response to unexpected emergencies that threaten Tucson homes. With the unpredictable and widespread effects that can result from situations like water loss incidents, homeowners must work to address these concerns immediately to prevent further structural deterioration or secondary damage like mold and microbial growth. Our SERVPRO professionals have a ready team prepared to help at a moment’s notice. We also want those in our area to understand the best approaches to recovering their property without our guiding hand.
As detrimental as water damage in Tucson homes can become, this situation can become exponentially worse without the appropriate mitigation and recovery solutions starting immediately. Much of the restoration of damaged homes and houses begins with choosing the right equipment and deploying it in the proper places in your property. Here are some of the tools that our SERVPRO team uses, and that you too can find to rent or purchase:
Often drying out your home is an overwhelming challenge if you have not first addressed any standing water and saturation present in the house. Wet-vacs are a useful extraction tool for smaller loss situations, but there are more powerful and more efficient machines available as well should they be necessary.
Our professionals utilize air movers on every single water damage recovery project, as they circulate air and work to quickly and effectively dry out a damaged home. The placement of these tools can even effectively dry saturated materials, flooring, ceilings, and other surfaces or contents in the property.
- Large-Capacity Dehumidifiers
Our professional restorers have a broad inventory of dehumidification units. These are very helpful in drying your home. You can find large-capacity units for rent in home improvement locations.
These are a few of the essential tools that can help you to recover your saturated and water-exposed property after a loss incident. If you get overwhelmed or need a professional approach to complete the task quickly, contact SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson team at (520) 760-9352. We will make it “Like it never even happened.”

Differences Between DIY and Professional Flood Damage Cleanup in Tucson
Did you know unexpected flash flood damage is more likely to happen in areas with less annual rainfall? The reason is when the ground becomes very dry, and it hardens; it has less capacity to absorb rainwater. This surface condition causes rain to run over rather than into the soil. In heavy rainstorms or microbursts, this can quickly turn into a flash flood situation.
When flood damage occurs in Tucson homes, some property owners choose to clean up the water and damage themselves. When it is only a little rainwater, and there are no indications the water has migrated more in-depth into the flooring or walls, in most cases the cleanup efforts are adequate.
The seriousness of a groundwater flood within the property requires professional assistance for cleanup due to the possibility of contaminants, and until tested, humans and pets should not come into contact with it.
Other differences between DIY cleanup and professional restoration services include:
DIY uses mops and household wet/dry vacs to remove water. SERVPRO technicians have specialized equipment to perform thorough water extraction from every part of your home.
DIY uses household fans to dry water-affected areas; this action only addresses moisture at the surface. Our certified Applied Structural Drying Technicians use industrial air movers that are so powerful, the high-velocity airflow causes embedded moisture to rise, where it is ported away by our dehumidification equipment.
There is no way to know if water migrated behind walls or in ceilings and floors without scoping it with moisture detection equipment. If left, excessive moisture can create mold issues or foul odors in the home leading to potentially costly remediation.
Post drying, it is vital to disinfect all water-affected surfaces with antimicrobial cleaners to ensure the residence returns to sanitary conditions for habitation.
SERVPRO technicians are committed to assisting homeowners in saving as much of the structure and possessions as possible from flood damage. We perform controlled demolitions as needed to cut away damaged sheetrock and get the room ready for restorative efforts.
After the completion of restoration services, we give the homeowner a comprehensive report including before and after photos to expedite the insurance claims process.
SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson stands ready at (520) 760-9352 to help local property owners with flood damage in their homes. We are available 24/7 and arrive soon after your initial call because We're Faster to Any Size Disaster.

Your Commercial Property In Tucson Can Be Returned To Pre-Damage Condition After A Fire
Even if you have suffered only minor fire damage to your commercial property, call us today for a professional inspection and estimate.
Commercial Fire Damage Restoration In Tucson
Tucson business owners may occasionally dislike the weather this time of year, but once the sun goes down, the crowds do come out, especially for restaurants and other eateries.
For commercial fire damage in Tucson, time is often more of a factor than it is with residential properties. Every day a restaurant is closed means a loss of income for every employee as well as the business owner. Suppliers stop making deliveries, which impacts their financial health as well. SERVPRO response teams understand that even a small cafe can affect dozens of people and other businesses if it is closed for too long. That doesn’t include the customers who have to find another place to eat and may not return if the doors do not reopen soon.
Much of the effort for Fire and Smoke Restoration Technicians (FSRTs) is cleaning equipment and structural property after disposing of wall panels, tables, seating, and ceiling tiles. Team members use cleaners with a deodorizing agent that not only break up layers of smoke residues but also neutralizes the particles which generate the malodors.
Wiping down metal surfaces after cleaning is a simple task, and FSRTs accomplish it quickly for ovens, refrigerators, and serving racks. For residues covering the ceiling, they use cleaners and long-handled mops and squeegees to break up and remove them. In the kitchens, after cleaning, team members use a sterilizer to ensure everything is clean enough for food preparation again. Floors also require a strong cleaner and a sterilizer. All SERVPRO work is designed to meet the standards and requirements for local and state health agencies.
In the customer serving areas, team members quickly dispose of any items physically damaged by the heat and flames. Each team leader is trained to work closely with owners and insurance representatives to ensure they expend time and effort only on items allowed for repair or restoration and dispose of everything else.
For our business, the goal of SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson is to help other businesses here, Catalina Foothills, Mt Lemmon, and Redington provide a clean, safe environment for customers and employees. Even if you have suffered only minor fire damage to your commercial property, call us today at (520) 760-9352 for a professional inspection and estimate. We are here for you.

Get Effective Water Removal for Your Tucson Residence After an Appliance Leak
Moisture meters and thermal imagers can help our technicians see water damage behind the walls.
When Appliances Cause Water Damage, Call SERVPRO
In the average home, a good deal of water-based appliances exist to make life easier for the residents. For instance, in the kitchen, it is common to have a dishwasher and a refrigerator. In the utility room, garage or utility room, there is a washing machine or water heater. Unfortunately, these appliances can malfunction, and if this happens when you are away, you can come home to find standing water in different rooms.
When an appliance leak occurs, it is necessary to contact a company that provides water removal services in Tucson to prevent further primary and secondary damage to your home and its contents. While waiting for emergency restoration services, you may handle some simple tasks yourself without worsening the situation, such as;
- Turning off the water from the main valve.
- Shutting off utilities if the appliance leak has caused flooding in your home.
- Air out your home by opening windows and turning fans on within the affected rooms.
- Reducing humidity by placing a dehumidifier in the affected area.
Outsourcing the water removal task to SERVPRO can ensure a professional job. Regardless of the appliance leak you have, we can extract the water using pumps or wet/dry shop vacuums to minimize the risk of permanent destruction occurring to carpeting, drywall, hardwood flooring, wood furniture, and other items. Removing the water also helps prevent mold growth, which can occur in damp areas. Our technicians have Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification and can evaluate the scope of the destruction and offer full cleanup and drying.
Drying surfaces thoroughly is what makes a house safe from long-term damage to building materials. We use industrial grade drying equipment like air movers and dehumidifiers because it dries a building safely, quickly and effectively. This equipment works together to dry the structural materials and eliminate moisture from the air. Sometimes, water loss incidents leave moisture inside walls. Our ASD technicians can use moisture meters to check for moisture inside walls. If wall cavities are wet, we can remove the baseboards and drill holes between each stud. We can then force air through the holes into wall cavities to speed up evaporation.
Our SERVPRO technicians communicate with the customer and the insurance adjuster before drilling holes in walls. Once the wall cavities are dry, we patch up the holes and replace the baseboard. We also monitor and document the drying process to validate that a home is dry.
If your house has water damage caused by a leaking appliance, call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352 for prompt water removal services. We’re Faster To Any Size Disaster. We are glad to serve the residents of Catalina Foothills, Redington, and Mt Lemmon.

Why Professional Water Restoration is Necessary for Flooding in Tucson
Are you ready for the summer storm season? SERVPRO is always on call to handle any storm damage that comes your way.
Flood Damage Experts In Tucson Describe The Role Of Water Restoration Technicians
In the summertime, it is possible for thunderstorms to hit the Tucson region. When a storm makes its way into your neighborhood, many conditions present can cause your property to suffer from flood damage. High-speed winds can cause objects like rocks or tree branches to become airborne and fly into the exterior of your structure. When things like rocks or branches strike weak spots of your walls or your windows, the instance can create a hole in the outside of your house. Whenever the exterior of your home gets breached, it is possible that moisture can make its way into your building and cause you extensive flood damage.
Once rainwater makes its way into the interior of your structure, it is prudent to contact a professional restoration company such as SERVPRO. Our water restoration technicians or WRTs have experience in dealing with flood damage inside your Tucson home. Whenever items get wet inside your home, anything that comes in direct contact with water is susceptible to primary problems. When things inside your house stay wet, the moisture can start to soak into your building materials and contents. Water then evaporates and fills the air in the form of vapor.
This vapor can then cause other issues that are considered secondary problems. The main goal when mitigating flood related issues is to prevent secondary damage from taking place. We train and certify our WRTs by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification or IICRC. During this certification program, the WRTs learn how to use industrially advanced equipment to remove moisture from your home as quickly as possible.
The WRTs also know the best methods on how to return your home to its preloss conditions “Like it never even happened.” Before any work begins, our WRTs take moisture readings of your building materials and contents. We first test the affected areas and then compare the readings with areas in parts of your home that did not get affected. We do this to determine a final drying goal, so we know when our applied structural drying or ASD process is complete.
If you ever have moisture get into your house during a storm, call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352 any hour of the day.
Tucson gets an average of 350 sunny per year. Read more here.

An excellent example of this is a physician’s office where an employee’s lunch, a double-beef burrito in the microwave caused a fire in the breakroom. The staff used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire quickly, and the flames did little structural damage. There was minor discoloration to the ceiling, slight charring around the cabinet area and microwave and a very noticeable pungent odor.
Protein-based fires tend to leave little in the way of actual smoke damage but plenty of odor. Removing the charred cabinet door and cleaning away the soot left on the surfaces with the fire extinguisher residue goes a long way to lowering the odor levels in the affected areas, but more than merely removing burned items needs to be done to ensure the neutralization of smoke odors.
In cases where a fire is limited to a single area of a building, we usually contain the doorways and vents to stop the spread of soot. In this case, due to the odor being spread around the entire facility through foot traffic and having the HVAC on, we needed to treat the whole premises for fire odors.
Soot, which can be smaller than the human eye can see, carries significant odors. We use air filtration devices that include HEPA filters to capture particles, then we disinfect and sanitize the premises.
The final step in fire loss restoration for commercial properties involves total odor control. It sometimes takes multiple applications to neutralize fire odor completely. When our technicians complete the mitigation, we give a list of the final repairs needed to return the office to its preloss condition such as painting the walls, and the office can get back to seeing patients again in an office where there are no reminders of an unfortunate fire.

What's Cooking in Your Tucson Kitchen ... Fire Damage?
Fires frequently start in kitchens.
Fire Damage Restoration for Your Tucson Home
The most common kinds of fires in Tucson homes, kitchen fires are usually triggered by cooking. Your oven and stove are two substantial potential sources of fire since they generate heat with electricity or gas. Fires originating in your oven can happen in various ways relating to cooking, the condition of the appliance, and cleanliness.
If you're dealing with fire damage in your Tucson home because you've left something to bake without monitoring it regularly, you are not alone. Many fires occur when someone turns an appliance on and then leaves the room for an extended period. A common mistake, but when it has happened to you, the help of a professional restoration company such as SERVPRO is needed to restore your home. With our expertise and experience, we can have your home looking as if nothing happened in no time.
Often, oven fires occur from a buildup of grease and other byproducts from cooking if you don't clean your oven regularly. Even dust can spark a blaze if it's thick enough. Keep your oven clean, specifically if something spills or food boils over inside of it, and make sure only to use the appropriate cleaning products.
Kitchen fires require SERVPRO technicians to clean oily soils. We can remove them in different ways. Some are light enough to be emulsified in water-based detergents. Water-based detergents can dissolve in water, and they also can attach to oil-based soils. The detergents pull the oil-based soils away from the surface so we can extract the soils with the detergent.
Other oil-based spills can be too heavy for this and need dissolving with oil-based solvents. These solvents can be used in situations where water could damage materials or in removing soils which are not water-soluble.
Your oven can malfunction and spark a fire, especially if it is aging or not maintained properly. The heating elements in electric ovens can spark a blaze, while gas ovens can develop leaks which can lead to explosions.
When an oven fire has broken out in your kitchen in your home in Redington, Ventana Canyon, or Bonita Ridge, SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson is standing by to help. Give us a call right away at (520) 760-9352 so we can get everything cleaned up for you.

How to Deal With Commercial Flood Damage in Your Tucson Motel
Flooding is a common occurrence, and it can happen during the main rainy seasons like the monsoon season and the winter rains. It can make roads impassable and can flood even the most well-maintained and modern motels. If flood water enters your motel, quick extraction is essential.
Water can ruin many types of floors from tiles, vinyl, wood floors and the wood subfloor beneath the carpeting. To deal with commercial flood damage in your Tucson Motel, you can call the water damage remediation specialists at SERVPRO. We can assist you to extract the water and then dry and dehumidify your motel.
Apart from ruining the floors, flood water can ruin other surfaces and areas like walls because of their porous surfaces. You may need to repair the bottom section of the water-damaged walls. Water can ruin electrical wiring which can cause fire and electrical hazards to your guests and staff. Water damage can also affect the contents of the building, including the furniture, valuable works of art, and antiques. It can also ruin the personal possessions of your guests, which is a big concern as you may be liable to pay for the ruined items. Further, the guests may post negative reviews of your motel online.
Our SERVPRO technicians can arrive at your motel quickly after receiving your call. We can evaluate the structure and contents to determine which ones can be decontaminated and restored and which items need replacing. The decision to replace or restore depends on the porosity of the materials, the contaminants, and the pretest results. Because we cannot disinfect porous items like carpets, we remove and discard them.
We can use powerful truck mounted or submersible pumps to remove the standing water. Our technicians can then use air movers to circulate air in the affected areas to speed up the drying process. We also use dehumidification equipment to remove the moisture from the air. We check our work by using moisture meters to check the moisture content of damaged materials and then eliminate the moisture.
If your motel has flood damage, SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson can assist you to extract it and dry the affected areas thoroughly. Contact us today by dialing (520) 760-9352 for fast remediation. We’re Faster to Any Size Disaster.

This fire started in the attic and caused damage to several rooms, we arrived quickly and restored the home back to new.
Removing Soot and Greasy Residues from Fire-Damaged Items in Tucson
When you experience a kitchen fire, getting it put out quickly comes as a great relief. Cleaning things up afterward can get quite messy, in any case. Homeowners in Tucson often discover that the residue from a grease fire is not only greasy but sticky, too. Cleaning up after a non-protein-based fire comes with many challenges, and one that started on the stove-top creates more difficult ones.
SERVPRO's specialists are up for the challenges of helping residents in Tucson restore their homes and belongings after fire damage occurs. One of these involves ridding different items of a layer of sticky residue that permeates into the tiniest grooves and indentations. Designed to provide a grip when wet, these same surfaces can seem impossible to clean thoroughly.
We can easily clean items with smooth surfaces that do not provide anything for soot to grab onto, but when textured surfaces make using brushes and cloths unproductive, we inventory and then box these items up and take them to our facility.
We use ultrasonic baths to remove soot from surfaces, including any hidden areas that might reduce the life of an item, and make it clean and safe to use again after fire damage. Other substances that might have settled on your belongings between the fire and the time we arrive, such as microbes, also get stripped away by the cavitation process. The microscopic bubbles produced by the ultrasonic mechanism in the bath burst open and push soot and other grime away from the items in the water.
SERVPRO specialists are dedicated individuals, trained in the most effective ways of helping you make things “Like it never even happened.” We know that a fire, no matter its size, can cause enormous amounts of stress and affect other areas of your home and life. Smoke travels far and wide within a home and settles everywhere it goes. Getting your belongings clean again makes things less stressful, less costly, and more like home for you and your family.
Call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352 when you need your home and possessions restored, cleaned, and back to normal. We can help residents in Ventana Canyon, Bonita Ridge, and Mt Lemmon with the latest in ultrasonic and other technologies that eliminate the effects of smoke, soot, and the fire that causes them.

What is Water Damage Remediation and How Does it Work for Your Tucson Business?
When your retail store has water damage from sprinklers or a pipe, contact our experienced team at SERVPRO for water removal or remediation efforts.
SERVPRO - Commercial Water Damage Restoration For Tucson Retail Operations
When a Tucson business suffers through a disaster like a fire that activates the sprinkler system, it is often the water that causes more damage than the flames or smoke.
Commercial water damage like this in a Tucson retail outlet can affect everything inside the store. Fortunately, SERVPRO personnel can replace or restore everything from the ceiling to the inventory on the floor.
Most retail stores utilize a drop ceiling with space above for pipes, HVAC ducts, and electrical wires and conduit. The ceiling tiles catch the back spray from the sprinkler heads and quickly become soaked. Designed for easy removal and replacement, they warp or crumble within a day or two, making them cheaper to the store owner for our technicians to remove and replace than attempt to restore.
Next, SERVPRO team members examine the walls. In most stores, the outermost walls are sealed and painted concrete which effectively resist water damage. Interior walls that divide office and other interior spaces are drywall panels which can quickly absorb water and can even crumble in place. Our personnel train to efficiently remove the panels from the wall framing, break it down for bagging, and then remove and dispose of it outside the structure.
For a retail operation, the floors are often concrete, commercial tile, or concrete covered with a commercial grade carpet. For any of these three options, restoration is a simple process of drying the surfaces with a combination of air movers and fans to force warm, dry air over them while simultaneously drawing off the moisture and forcing it outside the structure.
Depending on the inventory merchandise, our options are usually dry it in place or dispose of it immediately. If we do not dispose of it, team members hang everything possible on the store racks or additional ones we bring in for drying. To speed up the rate of evaporation, they install fans throughout the racks to increase air circulation.
For SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson, the goal is to help every local business reopen its doors to their customers. If your business has had any recent, or not so recent, water incidents, call us at (520) 760-9352 to schedule a visit and determine what we can do for you.

We have the necessary equipment, expertise and experience to restore your home. We are available 24/7 so call us right away.
Inspecting and Cleaning your HVAC system after Fire Damage in Tucson
A moderate property fire can often cause the air ducts of your HVAC system to become damaged or contain heavy soiling. Unfortunately, since the purpose of these systems is to distribute air, soot can quickly travel throughout a duct and be redistributed around the property after service is finished. For that reason, it is vital to have ducts checked by a registered professional when remediating after a property fire.
One part of our service is to restore a property to preloss conditions after fire damage in Tucson. Assessment of your HVAC system is always necessary especially when the affected area is close to the return side. A ventilation shaft returning air sucks smoke and soot into it circulating it throughout the system. This can cause permanent damage while also creating an unpleasant odor throughout the home.
Even when an HVAC system is a shut-off at the source, high pressure can force smoke into the system. A SERVPRO technician can check system components for damage during service. Damages can be sustained to dampers, turning vanes, mixing boxes and coiling cool. Often entering an HVAC system requires professional expertise, but an in-depth visual inspection tells us all we need to know about the need for potential repair work.
Our technicians cannot repair HVAC systems on site, which means if there are signs of permanent harm we may need to arrange for a third-party contractor. Where fire damage is cosmetic we can clean sheet metal although, most insulation material or flex duct may have to be removed, disposed of and then replaced.
Soiling and soot deposits in your ventilation systems can spread unpleasant odors throughout the property. SERVPRO can use thermal fogging equipment to send chemical pairing agents throughout ventilation ducts. These agents bond with odor particles, neutralizing them. Neutralization is more effective than merely masking an odor which can return once the deodorant wears off.
High-pressure fires can cause damage to your HVAC system. Contact SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352 for an expert assessment.

Tuscon Fire Damage Restoration You Can Count On
Our technicians are available 24/7 and have the right equipment to handle deodorization in your home after a fire. Call us today.
Deodorizing your Attic after Fire Damage in your Tucson Home
Hot air rises faster than cool air. In a fire, smoke residues created by burning materials can rapidly travel through the home moving upwards into clean air pockets. This can lead to long-term issues in the home, mainly where odors are concerned. Finding the source of an odor can be challenging but, we often find that if a stubborn odor has remained long after standard deodorization procedure, the source could be from your attic.
Attics are typically confined spaces which can make restoration after fire damage in Tucson properties a difficulty. SERVPRO can assist by removing any charred remains from home and applying water-based deodorizers to mask unpleasant smells. Unfortunately, this process is not always enough where attic spaces are concerned, and we may need to access your loft space to assess rafters and insulation.
The problem stems from air pressure created by fires. High air-pressure can cause porous materials like insulation to absorb smoke damage. SERVPRO always work on the principle of restoring over replacing; however, in high-pressure fires insulation may not be salvageable. In circumstances like these, your technician must remove the affected insulation and dispose of it safely. We can replace these materials as part of the service.
The second structural component that may be the cause of an unpleasant smoke odor is your attic rafters. Where there are only light smoke deposits, we can use dry brushing techniques finished with a deodorant coating. If the rafters show signs of substantial damages, SERVPRO can deploy sandblasting equipment that can remove charred elements along with the odor-causing component and refinish afterward.
Deodorization is as important an aspect of fire damage as removing the visible signs. Often thick odors can leave an unpleasant reminder of the event as well as affecting your indoor air-quality. We can mobilize technicians with IICRC qualifications in odor control to help deal with this issue on your behalf.

Water Loss Cleanup and Restoration Needed in Your Tucson Home? Call SERVPRO for Fast Service
Call SERVPRO to Salvage Carpets and Contents after a Large Tucson Home Leak Caused Water Damage
Unseasonably Cold Weather in Tucson Leads to Pipe Break and Water Damage
When water freezes, it expands. If the water happens to be in a pipe and freezes, the result can be a busted pipe and water pouring into your home. In areas of the country where the temperature doesn't dip below freezing regularly, you may not consider insulating your pipes, but it's never a bad idea to avoid potential water damage during an unexpected cold snap.
In this area, the average winter temperatures hover in the low to mid-40s. Due to an extreme cold front, one homeowner woke up to water all over her Tucson kitchen cabinets, walls and flooring from a broken pipe. After turning off the water, their first call was to SERVPRO. The homeowner had put down towels to absorb the water from the tiled kitchen floor to where it met carpeting in adjacent rooms. However, the towels that were meant to act as a barrier transferred water to the carpet when they became saturated, compounding the issue resulting in both the carpet and padding becoming wet. We immediately removed the towels from the area to stop this situation from continuing.
While one technician cleared items from the affected cabinets and set them out to dry, another SERVPRO tech drilled weep holes to allow more air circulation in the wall for faster drying. Weighted extractors were not used to push water from the carpet and padding so they can dry entirely in sync with the kitchen. The extent of the water soaking was handled readily by a wand and wet vac. Since this area of Arizona has low humidity, dehumidifiers were necessary for only a day to attain drying goals. Once dry, the weep holes were cleanly patched and the cabinets, flooring and contents were wiped down with antifungal cleaners to leave the room disinfected and smelling fresh and deodorized.
Efforts to stop water damage in the home should begin as soon as you see it. That's why SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson is Faster To Any Size Disaster, and we can take on a flooded corner in a kitchen or your entire home and restore it to its preloss condition. Is Faulty Wiring Toasting Your Tucson Home?
Faulty wiring in everyday appliances can cause fires.
Handling the Big Odors After Small-Scale Fire Damage in Tucson
The fire caused by the toaster having an unnoticed frayed wire was small and put out quickly, but the soot, smoke, and odor it left behind after the fact remained. SERVPRO is available 24/7 to come out and handle the cleanup from your kitchen disaster.
Cleaning up fire damage in your Tuscon home can be a three-fold project. First, your SERVPRO technician ascertains if there is water damage as well and address that issue immediately. Any damp walls left are dried using the most expedient methods, often air movers do the trick, rapidly drying the surfaces and inhibiting any secondary damage from extended wetness or mold in drywall, counters or cabinets.
Next, the physical evidence of the fire needs addressing. The technician is trained to determine if the scale of the damage and the specific type of cleaning that the situation requires. For a small scale fire extinguished quickly, the cleanup usually involves removing soot and residue from the local area with specialized dry sponges and cleaning products that specifically target soot and smoke residue. We also inspect items on countertops and cabinets to see if they have sustained damage or need cleaning.
The final step we take is to remove any lingering odor left by the fire. Your SERVPRO technician inspects the room where the fire occurred and also any adjacent rooms to determine how widespread the odor has traveled. One of the most precise ways to treat smoke odors utilizes thermal fogging. This method recreates both the heat and pressure expelled during a fire and effectively penetrates porous surfaces with a deodorizing agent. Another method used for odor control may be the use of gels or pellets, depending on the level of odor removal that your situation requires.
The technicians work as quickly as possible to restore your home to its preloss condition. Even small fires can leave significant odors in a home; it's a good idea to get professional-level help turning back the clock on the condition of your room.
You can rely on SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson to provide a fast response to your fire damage, smoke and odor issues with our professional services. Call (520) 760-9352 to arrange for a consultation with our skilled and experienced technicians.

Commercial Water Damage Professionals In Tucson Discuss Removing Moisture From Porous Substances
If moisture finds its way into your specialty furniture store in Tucson, your products could get damaged. Once moisture is present in places of your building where it is not supposed to be, commercial water damage can result. When dealing with disasters that occur at your place of business, our SERVPRO technicians know that saving your contents with extraction and drying can save you and your insurance company money in the long run. Replacing products inside your store can get costly, so we take extra measures to protect the items for sale in your shop from getting ruined. In some situations, we move out products inside your Tucson specialty furniture store and dry them separately from your building materials.
Moving out your contents can help speed up the drying process of both your products and your building's structural components. Drying materials quickly during a commercial water damage project in Tucson can help prevent fungal growth in the future. Moving wet items out of the affected building can also reduce problems created by excessive relative humidity levels. When dealing with porous items such as recliner chairs and couches, our SERVPRO crew often uses extra dehumidifiers so that vapor gets pulled from the air after it evaporates from solid substances at a faster rate. The more porous items that are present inside your store, the more likely extra dehumidification will prove to be useful.
If we do move your contents out of your building to dry them after water damage, our SERVPRO technicians set up your items in a clean and disinfected area. Sometimes we even seal off the region so that we can better control the environment. After we dry out your contents and structural components, we make sure everything gets cleaned and sanitized before it gets put back in your store. We often draw ourselves a map so that we make sure everything gets put back in the correct position.
If you ever notice that some of the pieces of furniture inside your store got wet, call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352 any time of the day.

Mold Cleanup in Tucson by SERVPRO Provides Industry Leading Equipment
SERVPRO Provides Industry-Leading Filtration Methods During Mold Remediation in Tucson
Why SERVPRO Uses Air Scrubbers During Mold Damage Remediation in Your Tucson Home
When SERVPRO arrives at your home to start any work, our Green Fleet comes loaded with the different pieces of equipment and all of our tools of the restoration trade. We serve Tucson with dedication and want to help both homeowners and businesses of all sizes flourish in our great city. Helping mitigate damage and remediate problems is part of the way we help strengthen our community.
Why SERVPRO uses specific types of equipment when cleaning up homes in Tucson and performing the different aspects of mold damage remediation can be summed up with three answers. We use air scrubbers to protect our health while we are working and to help make our work easier and faster, and we also use air scrubbing machines to protect your property.
While we are performing mold damage cleanup in your home, we use personal protection equipment, also known as PPEs. These different pieces of equipment protect our bodies from the many dangers of working in such situations. Pulling moldy materials away from studs in your walls can expose us to nails and other sharp objects. Our gloves protect our hands from cuts and punctures. Our masks protect us from breathing in debris in the form of dust or spores, while our goggles protect our eyes from any unexpected projectiles. Air scrubbers enhance the protection our masks provide by removing many spores and mold pieces from the air, making our respiratory masks even more effective. These devices utilize 0.3-micron size HEPA filtration systems to capture these particulates.
Remediating moldy areas in your home often calls for negative pressure chambers, which we build around the affected area. These temporary containment devices require the use of a robust system to draw the air out of the chamber and push it to the outside world. Air scrubbers provide this quite nicely and also remove many of the spores, as well as the dust we generate, from the air before it makes its way outside.
Outside of these chambers, we often use air scrubbers in various locations around your home to reduce the number of spores that mold releases when remediation activities disturb any actively growing mold colonies. These spores can travel to other sites and start new colonies in a brief period. Having air scrubbers already in place and running reduces the number of spores in your house down to an acceptable number.
Like any other competent mold damage remediation services, SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson cannot wholly eliminate microbes from your property. However, we use the latest and most effective equipment, including air scrubbers, to ensure your home's population of microbes is reduced to a healthy number. Call us at (520) 760-9352 for experienced professionals who can assess your situation and provide answers to your questions.

When a Leaking Water Supply Line Sinks Your Tucson Kitchen
Water supply line breaks can cause a lot of damage in a short time.
A Broken Kitchen Sink Supply Line Can Leave Your Tucson Home in Need of Water Drying Services
Supply lines are essential for bringing water from your piping to your sink; however, when they break, they can leave your residence in need of water drying services. When the supply line that connects to your kitchen sink breaks, it can spray water throughout the cupboard that your sink has been built into. Furthermore, that water can then leak out onto your tiled flooring and cause damage. When liquid seeps through the seams between the tiles, it can be absorbed by the base of the floor underneath it. The absorption can cause swelling, which in turn can cause cracks to the tile above it.
Finding your sink leaking upon return home from work is never a fortunate turn of events, and the sooner that you can call local Tucson water drying services to come to your home, the better. The longer that you wait to address the water damage inside of your kitchen, the more potential there is for further problems to arise. It takes less than seventy-two hours for microbial growth to form once it has come into contact with excess moisture, and mold can cause health effects. Having professionals perform a restoration can ensure that your home feels like it was before the damage occurred.
When SERVPRO arrives at your home, our first task is to do an initial investigation of the damage. From there, our IICRC-certified technicians can develop a drying-plan, and our estimator can walk you through the likely solution and any questions you may have.
To combat the water that has been absorbed into the cupboard under your skin and the kitchen floor, SERVPRO can use tools such as air movers, ventilation fans, and dehumidifiers. We can even try to find a way to approach your kitchen floor from the underside as well, to ensure that fresh and dry air is hitting both sides of the moisture.
SERVPRO equipment is designed to draw the moisture out of objects through evaporation. When all three tools work in conjunction, it creates the optimal environment for moisture to be extracted. Once finished drying your home, we can give you the number of a reputable plumber who can replace the broken supply line under your skin and then leave your home "Like it never even happened."
Should you find that your home is in critical need of water drying services, never wait to get help. Dial (520) 760-9352 on your phone to get in touch with SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson. 24/7, our technicians are available to come to you.

Affected by Recent Flooding? Prevent Secondary Damages in Tucson with Team SERVPRO
When flooding affects our area, the devastation can be overwhelming. Call SERVPRO right away to dry out your flooded property.
Flood Damage Restoration for Your Tucson Home
When weather conditions in Tucson turn south, they can take a significant toll on your property as a homeowner. Severe thunderstorms, powerful winds, and flooding can all lead to severe damage to your home. Although we cannot control the weather when storms and flooding occur, there are ways to safely and quickly mitigate a property. However, do not delay. Doing so only leads to further damage to the structure of your home and any contents inside that were affected.
When you are in need of flood damage restoration in Tucson, do not hesitate to contact our staff at SERVPRO right away. The sooner we know about the damage, the faster we can get to you and restore your home to the way it was before the water intrusion.
One thing we need to inspect for moisture is the insulation in your home. Moisture lessens the effectiveness of the insulation. To see if the water penetrated your walls, we use moisture meters. If we find that flood waters have done so, SERVPRO techs may need to remove the insulation, especially if it has become matted. Fiberglass insulation might not lose its insulating power for good, unlike other kinds. We might, on the other hand, be able to dry it back out.
Rockwool and cellulose insulation usually get matted when moisture hits them. Moisture also affects the antimicrobial qualities and the fire resistance of cellulosic material. Rockwool also has metal in it, that can rust when it becomes wet. We may have to replace these kinds of insulation.
We cannot always restore fiberglass insulation because drying is slowed because of the vapor barriers on it. If your walls or ceiling cavities are fully enclosed, drying the insulation can prove difficult. Our biggest concern here is preventing the growth of mildew and mold.
Ventilation is needed to dry out your wall cavities. One way we do this is to remove baseboards and drill holes in between the studs. We then force air through the holes into the cavities to make evaporation faster. If we find much moisture, some areas of the drywall might have to be taken out.
SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson ensures that we find any moisture that could be hidden in your home in Italian Spring, Ventana Canyon, or Willow Canyon after flooding has occurred. Once the storm has subsided, reach out to as any time of the day at (520) 760-9352 so we can help you remove the water and moisture from your structure.

Is Mold Spoiling Your Tucson Home?
Mold is still an issue in Tucson. Call SERVPRO to remove the mold from your home.
Why SERVPRO Mold Damage Remediation is the Tucson Go-To
When coping with a mold outbreak in Tucson, you need a remediation firm that combines robust containment and removal techniques with practical tips to inhibit the second round of damage. Competence and confidence are what you seek, and you find this pair when you hire our team for this project.
Despite their desert location, mold in Tucson can thrive since all mold spores need is a bit of moisture and an organic surface to thrive. SERVPRO is a good fit as a mold abatement partner because we use IICRC training supporting our remediation techniques and our professional approach. We do not engage in the panic and hype some firms bring to mold damage challenges.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) developed a mold remediation protocol SERVPRO follows. Once we locate the mold colonies, we use physical barriers and often a negative pressure air scrubber configuration to contain the mold and the debris created during removal. Access to the technology that creates the negative pressure containment is one of the reasons why SERVPRO is the logical choice when selecting a remediation team.
Our technicians wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while removing the mold growth for personal safety and avoiding tracking moldy debris through your home during the project. We use mechanical means to dislodge the mold growth, including brushes and scrapers. These work well on solid, non-porous surfaces. However, you appreciate why SERVPRO is a mold remediation leader when strategies like soda blasting remove the mold hyphae even from porous structures.
Final steps in SERVPRO’s mold remediation include vacuuming the treated area with HEPA filtered equipment to ensure no particles remain to seed a new colony. As further insurance, we use EPA registered antimicrobial products to inhibit the germination of the opportunist mold spores prevalent in the air and on surfaces.
The most effective way to avoid future mold growth is to find and eliminate the sources of moisture that supported the initial infestation. SERVPRO shares this last tip as evidence of our professionalism. We enjoy helping our customers but feel the most ethical way to manage mold projects is to do all in our experience and power to make our mold remediation a rarely sought specialty.
Training and a commitment to integrity are why SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson is a leading mold remediation specialist in our community. Call (520) 760-9352 for a reliable and proactive approach to your mold problem.

Water Soaking Your Flooring in Tucson--Just Call SERVPRO
Thumbs Up for SERVPRO for Moisture and Water Removal from Tucson Homes
SERVPRO - Water Removal Methods For Tucson Homes
Flooding in Tucson homes usually results from inside sources. Most of these only drop small amounts of water onto floors, like a pipe rusting out under a kitchen sink. A split line that feeds water into an ice maker though can flood the entire floor of a home over a weekend.
When the water rests on a Tucson home’s kitchen linoleum or tile, it does not pose a threat unless there is enough to force its way underneath through section seams or seepage into grout lines. If it does happen, then water and air bubbles can form that soften the glue holding the linoleum in place and lift it off the floor. SERVPRO restoration teams use space heaters and dehumidifiers to force the water to evaporate and then draw it out of the air. After shrinking the bubbles, team members carefully use weights and heat to return the linoleum to its original shape and position, if feasible and possible.
If the flooding came from a backed up toilet or a faulty septic tank, SERVPRO cannot guarantee a carpet is safe for use after cleaning it. We recommend discarding the contaminated floor covering. If the water is clean, our technicians can restore most carpets. First, they use an extraction wand to draw as much water as possible out of the carpet. Next, team members lift and roll the carpet out of the way to remove the pad underneath.
They use air movers to blow warm, dry air over the exposed floor to dry it and lay down a new pad. Finally, unroll the carpet and tent it with air movers at one end and box fans at the other to completely dry it and then tack it back in place. This process is elaborate and is used if economically sound and the homeowner wishes to salvage this carpet.
If the home has wood floors, water removal can require more time and effort. Technicians use moisture content meters to measure the amount of water trapped in the floorboards. If it tests too high, they use dehumidifiers to draw moisture from the floorboards and surrounding air. Team members also use air movers to dry the surface, adjusting the heat to prevent cracking or splitting. Drying mats, another SERVPRO professional-grade piece of equipment, can draw the water and moisture from the joints and the underlying floor beams or concrete pad.
If they find moisture in the floor cavity underneath, technicians either use those mats, lift a floorboard or drill a hole underneath a section of floor trim to dry it. They then attach a hose to an air mover to force air into the cavity to speed up drying it and the dehumidifier to continue drawing the evaporated water out of the air.
At SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson, our goal is to put you safely back into your home as soon as we can. If you need our restoration services, we are here for you. Call us today at (520) 760-9352 to schedule an appointment.

Insurance Woes After a House Fire in Tucson? Just Call SERVPRO to Help with the Recovery
Tucson Homeowners Know that SERVPRO Has No Match for Fire & Smoke Cleanup and Restoration
The Claims Process Following a Fire in Your Tucson Residence
One of the first concerns that many Tucson homeowners consider when they face a disaster in their residence is how to pay for the recovery. While some situations might require you to dip into your own pockets, incidents like fire are often covered by the insurance provider for your home. The essential point about this coverage is understanding what they expect you to do and how to move the process along, so the restoration work does not stall out.
Fire damages can often be one of the most difficult things to see in your Tucson home. Even apart from the immediate traumatic sight of structural compromise, there are effects from the fire that spread far beyond the acute results of the flames. With so much work to be done, you can appreciate that the situation does not get easier to manage as time goes on. You do not want the claims process slow, and so you need to take an active stance in ensuring that the appropriate people get notified, and the steps get taken to approve the claim.
Once the first responders have left your home, notify your insurance agent about the situation. They likely can give you a detailed list of what they need to verify that the damage occurred and how to get the claim process started on their end. If they do not offer to send out their adjuster, they might ask you to contact one. Our SERVPRO estimator can catalog and photograph the damage your home sustained, as well as possibly provide a very ballpark figure as to what the insurance company can expect to pay to restore your home. The final budget when once given by your agent, assures you that SERVPRO can work within that number. We deal with many insurance providers and typically come highly recommended as a restorer.
While our SERVPRO team gets contacted directly by insurance companies on a regular basis, it is also sometimes left to the homeowner to determine the professional outfit they want to restore their home. Our team can work directly with your insurance adjuster to help expedite the claims process and get our technicians working on bringing your home back. This point bears repeating; we are here to help you.
Fires can be traumatic to live through, but with our professional restoration service, we can make this disaster disappear, “Like it never even happened.” Trust our SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson emergency response team to show up quickly and help you restore your home to preloss conditions. Give us a call anytime you need us at (520) 760-9352.

How Professionals Remove Water From Your Tucson Home
Burst water pipes can lead to a lot of water in your home. SERVPRO can safely remove the water and restore your home to its previous condition.
Monsoon season is coming to an end for Tucson and the rest of Arizona, but it is too early to empty the sandbags and put away the water-vacs and push brooms. Sudden rainfalls still happen, not to mention the year-round sources of flooding like broken dishwashers cracked pipes and rusted out water heaters.
Thorough Tucson water removal requires more than just pumping out the kitchen and living room, however. SERVPRO restoration teams can pull water off floors, out of carpets, and draw it out of the personal and structural property.
Depending on the amount of standing water, technicians use pumps or extraction wands. For significant flooding, they use the pumps to remove the majority of the water out of most homes in only a day or two. If the water came from outside the home, they treat it as contaminated and pump it directly into the nearest, active sewer opening. If the sewer system is blocked or otherwise unavailable, they pump the water into a tank truck for delivery to a water treatment plant where it is cleaned and recycled.
Water from inside the home, unless it comes from a backed-up toilet, is considered clean. Technicians can pump it out of the home and drain it outside into the street. For water that only covers surfaces, they perform the same tasks using extraction wands. These smaller devices are adjustable for speed, and SERVPRO team members use them effectively to draw water out of carpets and off wood floors without accidentally causing secondary damage.
Preventing secondary damage is also essential for removing water from furniture. At the start of cleanup operations, technicians pull everything out of the water to stop absorption and start the drying process. As team members pull water off the floors, others examine wooden and upholstered furniture for how much water was absorbed. Split wood and deteriorating cushions indicate considerable damage and most of these items require disposal.
If there is no cracking and the cushions underneath are not water-logged, team members begin drying the furniture using a combination of air movers and fans to force warm, dry air across surfaces to force out moisture and remove it from the home as it evaporates into the air. If needed, they can also install a dehumidifier to draw water from the air and nearby furniture.
At SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson, we want to return your home to what it was before the flooding. That means having and implementing a plan to dry your personal property as well as remove standing water. To set up a visit or for more information, call us at (520) 760-9352 today.

The Real Truth About Flooding in Your Tucson Home
If an overflow of some sort, internal or external, has flooded your home, contact SERVPRO for effective water cleanup and remediation.
How to Deal Effectively with Flood Damage in Tucson
Floods deal both physical, and psychological damages. If suddenly you do not know what to do after seeing water rising in your Tucson property, know you are not the only one. Unless adequately prepared, other people caught in similar situations also suffer the same fate. Having the emergency contacts of a professional restorer is vital because once you call them, you can receive useful advice on what to do next.
Apart from the structure, flood damage in Tucson also affects contents of a house, but can also extend to the occupants if care is not exercised. The water contains several contaminants collected from sewage lines and other waste removal channels. It is therefore essential to wear the right protective gear when wading through such water. Our SERVPRO technicians usually have rubber gloves, protective body suits and boots allowing them to wade through any water depths without exposing themselves to unnecessary dangers.
Flood waters transfer contaminants to porous materials in the affected areas. Cleaning and disinfecting the materials cannot eliminate all the contaminants. Removal is the only guaranteed way to deal with the contamination. Our SERVPRO technicians remove the carpet and pad as well as any other affected items such as upholstered furniture. We also pressure wash structural components and use an EPA-registered disinfectant to deal with contaminants.
After a case of flooding, much debris might be left in the affected area. These might include damaged components from your house, mud, silt, and even sewage waste. To comply with city regulation, all these require proper disposal. Our SERVPRO team helps remove all the waste from your property for proper disposal.
Any flooded property requires proper drying as part of the restoration process. If excess moisture remains in the affected areas, you might end up dealing with microbial growth. Parts of the structure might also rot. After extracting all the standing water, the process should end with the removal of excess moisture. Our SERVPRO technicians dry your property to preloss levels using different equipment like air movers, dehumidifiers and drying mats among others.
In cases of flooding call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352. We’re Faster To Any Size Disaster.

Firefighting efforts can leave water in places that you wouldn't have even considered to look; every nook and cranny of your kitchen is likely to be soaked.
Should you delay in calling for the help of professional water removal services to aid your Tucson pizzeria, the excess moisture could lead to further problems inside of your restaurant, such as mold or continuing degradation of fixtures. In the aftermath, not only is there water to remove inside your kitchen, but also the remaining powder that may have turned into a muddy mess during firefighting efforts.
Here at SERVPRO, we understand how valuable your time is to you and, as a result, we work around your schedule. Mold Damage in Tucson Often Takes Place in Laundry Rooms
If your laundry room experiences an increase in moisture and you smell that musty mold smell, contact SERVPRO to investigate and remediate.
Our Technicians Assess and Then Remediate the Mold Infestation in Your Home
A fungus needs three conditions to be present to form inside your Tucson home which are moisture, the correct temperature, and an organic food source. Houses already have plenty of organic substances because they get built with a lot of wooden and paper materials that can develop mold damage. Fungi like temperatures between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit and most homes are kept at around 70 degrees. Once moisture gets added to this scenario, you have a prime location for microbial growth. Once microbes that already exist everywhere get activated by excessive moisture, building materials inside your home can receive mold damage.
If water ever leaks into your home, it must be removed within 48 hours or the microbes can start to grow. Therefore, most mold damage cases in Tucson are the result of water leaks going unnoticed. Sometimes appliances can malfunction and leak out moisture without you noticing it. Water pipes can develop slow leaks that pour small amounts of moisture into your building's structure.
One common place in every house that receives leaks you may not see right away is the laundry room. Many laundry rooms are small, confined, and close to the size of a closet making it difficult to easily see every corner of the room. Washers and dryers are heavy, so they do not get moved out of their places very often. Since laundry rooms are the home to your washer and dryer, there are water pipes and connections in the small area. The amount of water-related connections involved in a laundry room increases the chances of a leak taking place.
Our SERVPRO technicians are IICRC certified and have experience in dealing with moisture-related problems inside these rooms that are the home to your washer and dryer. When we first arrive at a problem in a laundry room, we immediately move everything out of the tight area so we can inspect the situation. Once we figure out the source of the problem, we repair the moisture source if needed.
Next, if microbial growth is present our SERVPRO restoration team analyzes the situation and tries to figure out how severe the contamination is. Once we determine the overall scope of the project and get work authorization from you, we contain the contaminated room. This means that we use heavy-duty plastic to seal off the room so that no harmful dust particles or mold spores can spread outside of the affected region during our restoration process.
If you ever see black mold inside your laundry room, call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352 any time of the day.

Restoring Your Furniture And Upholstery After A Water Damage Event In Tucson
There are different ways in water damage can affect your property.
Restoring Your Furniture And Upholstery After A Water Damage Event
There are different ways in water damage can affect your property. For instance, you should expect some problems after the water comes into contact with your upholstery. The moisture may weaken the framing joints, cause a breakdown of the glues, lead to cracking and swelling. You can also notice some water spotting on the fabrics. To avoid water lines, we may wet the entire furniture when we are restoring your Tucson property.
The water damage experience in your Tucson property can also lead to color bleeding. If that happens and the cover of the upholstery sags, there are chances of staining the floors and carpets. Some carpeting stains can also result from the wet wooden legs. If drying the carpets takes place before removing them, then it can be challenging to deal with stains. Our SERVPRO technicians start by stopping the source of moisture and in the process reduce chances of mildew growth.
When wooden materials get exposed to water, spots may occur on their finish. The wood can also crack, weaken and swell. Our SERVPRO technicians can use specialized wood care products to remove the spots, and by using a furniture refinisher, we can attend to wooden furniture frames. Although the laminate that covers some furniture can act as a moisture barrier, the non-laminated side can absorb the water and lead to warping.
During the restoration process, our SERVPRO technicians use appropriate extractors to extract water from the furniture and other wet surfaces. By running putting in place dehumidifiers and air movers, we can reduce the time that your upholstered furniture takes to dry. We can also dry the zippers and metallic button on the upholstery to avoid rust. To prevent rust transfer, we can place waxed paper between the zipper and the cushion. Covering the metal buttons with furniture pads can also prevent the transfer of rust.
SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson is a trusted and experienced leader in the restoration industry. Call us at (520) 760-9352 when you face mold, storm, fire, and water damage, and we can return your property to its former state.

Trust The Pros at SERVPRO to Restore Your Tucson Commercial Property
Residents and the many visitors to the Tucson area enjoy a little fun and relaxation at one of our many theaters, gaming centers, climbing walls, and many other entertainment businesses. If a major incursion of water occurs, many planned and spur of the moment trips to your business might need postponement or even cancellation. The crew we send to your water saturated space can clean and dry out your property fast.
Water removal in your Tucson property cannot wait if your business relies on individuals, families, and groups to gather on your premises to enjoy the activities you developed. Regardless of the source of the water, immediate removal and speedy and thorough drying is the only answer. Our team arrives as soon as possible with the high-efficiency equipment needed to dispatch the water rapidly.
The SERVPRO crew lead evaluates the damage, making sure first to shut off the water or otherwise limit additional water from entering. Safety considerations can necessitate the disabling the electricity until the water no longer poses an electrocution threat. Even with the electricity temporarily shut down we operate our pumps and water extractors with power generated from equipment on our trucks. Infrared scanners locate water trapped in cavities between walls, in cinderblock cells, above ceilings, and more. We remove all the water, hidden in cavities or out in the open. Failure to do so can lead to mold growth and progressive deterioration to structural components.
SERVPRO crew members then use sensitive moisture meters to establish baselines for drying targets for the range of materials damage and monitor the decrease over the course of the project. Carpeting frequently can be dried in place when our certified staff use weighted extractors and float carpets with air movers getting above and below the materials.
In all spaces affected by the water, SERVPRO positions the air movers, heaters, and dehumidifiers that create the drier air which attracts the water saturating structures and fixtures. As the water moves into the air as vapor, the dehumidifiers capture and absorb (desiccant type) or condense (refrigerant type) the vapor. The liquid water contained can be discarded. Every step in the process takes you that much closer to the goal of reopening to welcome your customers.

Cleaning Your Fire Damaged Items in Tucson after the Disaster
SERVPRO Can Wipe Down and Clean the Soot & Smoke After a Fire Damaging Event in a Tucson Home
On-Site Fire Recovery of Possessions and Structures in Tucson Is a Cornerstone of SERVPRO Services
Fire damage events usually bring along a feeling of helplessness and confusion, and sometimes you might not know the right actions to take to mitigate the incident. All does not end when the fire has been put off by the fire department, and the smoke has cleared. Even the fire extinguishing agents pose some additional risk to your property, and you may need professional skills, knowledge, and resources to return your items to their preloss state. We are going to present to you some of the options that Tucson residents have when such disasters occur.
When attending to fire damage incidents in Tucson, our SERVPRO technicians look at the type of damage and the materials to clean and choose the most suitable cleaning technique. For instance, we may use surface cleaning techniques when we do not want to saturate your contents with the cleaning product. Foam cleaning and spray and wipe are examples of surface cleaning techniques. Under the spray and wipe technique, we slightly spray the cleaning product onto a surface and then use a dry cleaning towel to wipe. Often, numerous passes are needed to reach a satisfactory result. Soot and smoke stains can be very stubborn to remove.
Our SERVPRO team uses foam cleaning in cases where the application of excessive moisture is likely to cause additional damage to your contents. We first generate the foam from the cleaning product and then use a natural sponge to do the cleaning. The use of a pump-up sprayer can help us to generate the foam.
When there is a need to apply large quantities of the cleaning agent to the surface to allow enough time for dissolving action, then we use saturation techniques such as hand washing and rinsing. The use of an upholstery cleaning machine also falls under this category. These techniques are useful when we are cleaning fabrics with heavy soils, and more agitation is necessary.
SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson has a proven record in storm, mold, fire, and water damage restoration. Call us at (520) 760-9352, and we can make your property “Like it never even happened.”

Does Tucson Mold Damage Remediation Always Mean Demolition And Replacement?
Although the mold damage you see in your Tucson home needs attention, panicking is unnecessary.
Mold Damage Remediation
The media seems full of scary information about mold growth even in drier areas of the country like Tucson. Often the stories concentrate on health concerns and the urgency to get rid of microbial activity immediately. Homeowners fear the expense and sometimes panic, trying to manage the mold themselves. Make a better decision by giving the professionals a chance.
Although the mold damage you see in your Tucson home needs attention, panicking is unnecessary. Some individuals do experience allergic reactions or other sensitivity to excessive amounts of mold spores or by-products of mold growth, but healthcare practitioners are best suited to answer those worries. On the other hand, mold growth damages structural components and the contents of your home and sends unpleasant odors throughout all spaces. Mold remediation needs to occur, but take the time to line up our skilled crew to ensure the job is done appropriately and safely.
SERVPRO mold remediation technicians assess the damage in your home and develop a plan that focuses the dual goals of active mold colony removal and restoration of your home to pre-infestation condition. The equipment and tools we employ often permit us to accomplish these outcomes without demolishing, removing, and replacing the materials that provide structure for your dwelling.
We follow EPA protocols learned in IICRC training to contain the mold colonies, keeping unaffected portions of your home clear of the spread of moldy debris. SERVPRO invests in equipment that makes containment effective, including heavy plastic sheeting to create physical barriers and technology like negative pressure air scrubbers to filter spores and other moldy particles, exhausting the contaminants outside of your living space.
Inside the containment area, SERVPRO technicians rely on a range of techniques and instruments to clear surfaces of the mold. No matter how unappealing the mold looks, nonporous surfaces release the colonies when we scrape, scrub, and brush. Even porous materials restore if methods like soda blasting loosen the hold hyphae, the “roots” of mold, have. EPA registered antimicrobials applied evenly to all affected surfaces with foggers or sprayers to inhibit the return of the mold growth.
Odors that linger make the remediation feel incomplete. SERVPRO recommends a course of treatments, employing different odor elimination strategies until the smell is gone. We do not cover up with short-term air fresheners or distractors like candles or diffusers. Thermal fogging or hydroxyl generators create tiny odor-busting particles that seek out the molecules emitting the smells. Bonding with odiferous airborne and settled bits causes the chemical composition of the particles to change, rendering them neutral in odor.
SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson has many options short of knocking down walls when we remediate your mold damage scenario. Call us at (520) 760-9352 to set up a consultation and check out what we offer for up-to-date mold abatement.

The Risks of An Aging Sprinkler System In Your Tucson Business
When you're dealing with a commercial water damage emergency, you can count on our SERVPRO team to respond immediately and help!
Have You Checked Your Tucson Business's Sprinkler System Lately?
Sprinkler systems are a standard feature to find in your Tucson business's building, but there is a lot that the average entrepreneur does not know about these fire safety additions. While they can assuredly help in the event of a growing fire happening in the building, they can also malfunction and break apart as they age.
It is a regulation for businesses to have fire prevention implements like sprinkler systems to remain in compliance with building safety codes. Unfortunately, without sustained maintenance to this network of pipes and plumbing, your business could find out what happens when one of these pipes disconnects, or the system spontaneously misdiagnoses a fire in the building. Suddenly, your Tuscon business is in need of professional water removal services.
While you might not assume that the small diameter pipe commonly used for sprinklers can house that much water, it is more than enough to cause a significant water incident in your building. This situation is even worse if your system believes there is a fire and begins pulling from its water supply to continue to douse the supposed issue.
Our SERVPRO professionals have experienced all manner of significant water loss incidents, and we have the tools and expertise to overcome any situation that you might face as well. From the time that we arrive, our focus is shutting off the water supply if this has not already happened.
Next, our team works to pull the water from the floor using several pieces of extraction equipment from weighted extractors to wet-vacs. This process allows our SERVPRO technicians to have the kind of access to assess the remaining dampness and present moisture and then to thoroughly dry the area successfully.
Locally Owned Company with National Resources
While there is no getting around having a sprinkler system in your building or your store, proper maintenance and inspections can help to prevent disasters. Our SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson water damage restoration specialists are available 24/7 to help you clean up the mess and get back to your customers. Give us a call today at (520) 760-9352.

Surprising Causes of Mold Damage in Tucson
Finding a mold infestation spreading on your wall can lead to panic. Contact SERVPRO for an assessment and remediation services.
Team SERVPRO Remediates a Mold Infestation Regardless of the Cause
Our dry climate can lull homeowners into believing there is little chance of interior mold damage in Tucson. The reality is that many opportunities are present inside any home for excess moisture to collect, and that is precisely the fuel needed for the many mold spores waiting in the air and on surfaces. We have advanced equipment, well-trained crews, and the proper protocol to remediate unexpected mold problems.
Mold damage in your Tucson home causes deterioration to structural components. When mold grows, it distributes numerous mold spores and can produce mycotoxins, both of which can irritate and trigger allergic reactions in susceptible individuals. It is undoubtedly an unwanted issue but is predictable if moisture remains unmanaged. When we take on a mold remediation project, we not only abate the microbial growth, we also identify moisture sources and suggest strategies to eliminate it.
Very little moisture is necessary to encourage mold growth. SERVPRO often sees tiny leaks from plumbing under cabinets or between walls creating the perfect conditions for fungal issues. A loose connection or even a sweating cold supply pipe that drips condensation provides enough water to give a mold colony a boost.
Failure to dry out bathrooms or laundry rooms after use can offer an incubator for mold. Spills or overflow left unattended are mold havens. Wet laundry, sponges, and washcloths are good breeding places. The steam from cooking can dampen drywall or woodwork. Any room in your home that experiences even periodic high humidity is a possible mold hotspot. SERVPRO can contain and remove the current infestation, but to avoid future outbreaks exhaust fans are a must and should be used regularly.
Air conditioning units, whether central or window, contribute to the moisture issues behind mold problems. Although in theory they are a tool to help reduce humidity and limit microbial growth, they do this in most cases by condensing water vapor out of the air. If the coils where the condensation occurs or the drain is dirty or clogged, water collects. These areas are classic places for mold spores to absorb moisture and being grown into significant colonies.
Work with SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson if you smell or see any evidence of mold in your home. We can remediate an outbreak and offer suggestions to limit its return by eliminating moisture. Call (520) 760-9352 for an evaluation.

Speedy Recovery From Water Damage In Your Tucson Business
SERVPRO Reopens the Doors Fast After a Water Loss in Your Tucson Business
SERVPRO's Professionally Managed Water Removal Limits Your Commercial Loss in Property and Revenue
Regardless of the source, water damage to your Tucson commercial property requires immediate attention. Unlike routine maintenance, remodeling, or improvements, water damage cannot wait. Structural components and the inventory and equipment that is the backbone of your business suffers from progressive deterioration when saturated with water. Our highly-qualified work crews stand ready to halt the destruction and begin the recovery from a water event.
Even when relatively clean, water damage to a Tucson business increases the risk of secondary harm from microbial activity or disintegration. Breakage of a water main, for example, saturate walls, floors, and foundations with non-contaminated water. Choosing to wait rather than react has consequences. Mold growth can take hold within 24 to 48 hours with any type of moisture, avoidable if seasoned water damage restorers remove standing water and dry out the structure quickly. Our team arrives within hours of your call, assessment, and development of a recovery plan proceeding without further delay.
SERVPRO service vehicles contain high-efficiency pumps, water extractors, air movers, and dehumidifiers, allowing the project to begin without delay. If power is unavailable temporarily because of safety or other reasons our truck-mounted equipment permits water removal and drying without on-site electricity. Meters employed by our certified employees help establish moisture baselines that inform drying goals. Subsequent measurements assure we return affected structure to normal moisture levels on the timeline promised and needed to limit further harm.
Infrared scanners locate hidden pockets of water. Our crews utilize a range of strategies to release and remove the water, including drilling holes, loosening sections of flooring or walls, and taking advantage of extractor wand extensions. Once the majority of the water exits we position air movers, heater, and dehumidifiers to accelerate the drying process. Training in industry best practices through IICRC courses supports our decisions and ensures that the correct balance of air movement, temperature, and reductions in air humidity to pull moisture out of building materials.
SERVPRO is always aware of how detrimental downtime is to your business, so we make every attempt to confine our water removal and drying efforts to the affected areas of your property only. We listen carefully to you as we devise the water damage recovery plan, looking for ways to keep a portion of your business operating while we complete the restoration.

Mold Damage Experts In Tucson Discuss Problems Inside Bathrooms
SERVPRO can remediate mold damage on the ceiling of your bathroom.
Proper containment is needed when addressing mold damage in your bathroom
Any time unwanted moisture gets inside your Tucson home, microbial growth can occur. A fungus needs an organic food source like paper or wood, the ideal temperature, and water to develop. Houses are already kept at around 70 degrees Fahrenheit and contain many natural materials, which when moisture is added makes a prime location for fungi.
Once microbes get the amount of moisture and time they need to grow, they form structures called hyphae that spread across surfaces and release spores for reproduction purposes. During any mold damage project in Tucson, measures must be taken to prevent spores from contaminating unaffected areas of the building. Our SERVPRO technicians utilize various methods to contain contamination including building containment chambers.
Before any work begins in the affected region, thick plastic sheets get put up with poles, sealing the area off. Containment chambers prevent any dust or spores created by the restoration process from floating around the house and causing problems in other parts of the structure. An air scrubber gets attached to a hole in the side of the chamber so that it creates negative air pressure inside the work area. The scrubber sucks up any microscopic microbes and dust particles and runs them through a HEPA filter before exhausting air out into the environment.
Many times mold can form inside the shower in your bathroom from either a leaking shower faucet or improper ventilation. Usually, if fungi form in the shower, it is up by the faucet or on the ceiling. Once our SERVPRO technicians have determined the extent of the damage and its source they seal off your shower and create a containment chamber.
If the mold has severely damaged the drywall in your shower's ceiling, then it might have to be taken down and replaced. If demolition is required, then the contaminated materials get taken down and disposed of in sealed plastic bags. In some situations, the fungi get removed either by scrubbing or sanding.
After all of the contaminated debris gets removed from the affected area, we use a HEPA vacuum to remove all of the remaining dust created by the project. Anti-microbial chemicals get used throughout the process to inhibit future microbial growth. For help with fungal issues, call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson at (520) 760-9352 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Appliances can be Responsible for Water Damage to Your Tucson Residence
If your water heater or another piece of equipment starts leaking water on the floor, it is time to contact SERVPRO for water damage restoration.
SERVPRO Technicians Move to Quickly Dry Out Your Property Regardless of the Water Damage Source
While your Tucson home might be at risk for a handful of disasters throughout its existence, as a homeowner, it is wise always to be aware of these potential incidents. Among the most likely of these occurrences would be a water emergency in your home. There could be several potential causes for this damage, though typically, water-fed appliances like washers, water heaters, and dishwashers are to blame for the issue.
While you might not suddenly get inclined to rid your home of these conveniences, they do require regular maintenance and preventative care to avoid failing you and causing water damages in your Tucson residence. Unfortunately, even the most diligent of homeowners might still encounter a malfunction in one of these appliances that result in substantial water damages. Should this occur, knowing whom to call to help can reduce the necessary time for restoration and limit the need for remodeling or reconstruction.
From the moment that our SERVPRO technicians arrive at your home, we get to work in assessing the full scope of the damage. This process determines what needs to happen to restore your home and what equipment and personnel are necessary to complete the project. The restoration itself begins with extraction, should this action be a necessity to restoring your residence.
Drying the area thoroughly is critical to the SERVPRO restoration process. While the bulk of this work gets completed with a combination of air movers and dehumidification equipment, specialized tools are often necessary to reach areas that these first machines cannot reach. For spaces in between walls, our injectidry system can infiltrate this area and entirely dry it out. For penetration beneath flooring, large drying mats allow for more uncomplicated removal of water and moisture from this difficult-to-reach material.

Punctured Plumbing and Water Damage in a Tucson Home
Leaking Plumbing Causing Water Damage in Tucson? Call SERVPRO for Cleanup and Restoration
Rely on SERVPRO for Rapid Water Removal and Restoration
We get called out to remove unwanted water from homes on a daily basis. There are many unusual and usual reasons why water soaked a carpet or collapsed a ceiling. Maybe a child left the water in the sink running while he went out for a burger with his parents or an appliance failed.
The response time to a damaging water incident in the Tucson area is crucial in mitigating losses. When water leaks inside a wall from compromised plumbing, the flow of water can be very significant and damaging. We take pride in training our SERVPRO crew members in best practices according to the IICRC paired with our ECTP--Employee Certification Training Program, an on-going means of staying up to date on the latest technologies.
The photo depicts an incident that was completely preventable. Pex plumbing is a cross-linked polyethylene tubing that is installed in much newer construction and adequately transports water throughout a home. Unfortunately, a general contractor did not use a stud-finder during a remodel and punctured one of the three tubes with the drywall nails. There was no leakage until the nails rusted and then the pressured water line spewed water inside the wall cavity. That is where we came in to remove the water, the damaged drywall with a neatly controlled demolition, and then a drying of the affected area.
Doing things right the first time, we understand the needs of our customers and strive always to meet and beat their expectations. We make them feel "Like it never even happened."
SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson is available 24/7 to respond to water, fire, and mold problems in the greater Tucson area, including Redington and Catalina Foothills. 520) 760-9352

Losing my best friend!
We got the worst news this past week… Our chocolate lab Nial has bone cancer. I was shocked and asked myself “How can a dog get bone cancer?” He has lived 5 very luxurious years with my family and me. Though we expect things like this to happen every once in a while, we are never really prepared to say goodbye to any family member like this. How unfair and how sad! This is very difficult for all of us seeing him in such pain, but I must be a responsible owner and let him go. He was the best dog any family could ever have had. He will be missed by our family and those who knew him. R.I.P. Nial, You were a loyal friend.
After Hurricane Harvey--What Matters Most Are People, Pets, & Photographs
Just Stuff!!! On a Houston Street. SERVPRO Helps Preserve Property, Pets, and Photographs After Hurricane Harvey
SERVPRO Helps People Preserve Their Pets and Photographs As We Grapple with the Storm Damage Cleanup
Hurricane Harvey left a lasting impression on the residents of large areas of Houston, Texas. The flooding was devastating, leaving a massive loss of property behind. But is all just stuff!!
Pictured is our leader and owner Rob Seigler who answered the call with his SERVPRO team, to help our distant neighbors during this time of crisis. The stacked and ruined furnishings and belongings could have just as easily been the result of a severe monsoon in our Tucson area.
The water removal was started as soon as the flood waters subsided from this property. Our crew, as part of a SERVPRO Disaster Recovery Team, went to work to demolish all non-salvageable building materials, and remove furniture, carpets, fixtures, and belongings. The contaminated flood waters left no choice. However, we understand that the most important work is making sure that the locals were safe and sound.
We learned from the severe storm what is really important, above all else. People, Pets, and Photographs. Houses can be rebuilt; people cannot. Pets, our small partners in life, and the Photographs that keep us connected to our past, also can never be replaced. Though devastated by great water damaging losses, our friends and neighbors we just happy to be alive, hug their pets and treasure their photo albums. So in the next natural disaster! Remember, the 3P's--People, Pets, and Photographs!!!
As we head home to our franchise--SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson in Arizona, we were uplifted by the resiliency of the Houstonians that are just like our own friends and neighbors in Tucson and the Catalina Foothills. Call us if you need help at (520) 760-9352.
Chasing out critters!
Our guys have been out in Houston, Texas for a few weeks now to continue helping homeowners in need. Working hard every day nonstop can be exhausting but every day is a different day with it's own stories. On one day, our technicians were visited by an unexpected neighbor. This little fella heard that SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson was in town and had to show up. He decided to make his way into a home that we had been working on that morning. Our guys had to chase him out and make sure he doesn't hide inside the house and possibly take up residence. Thankfully that was not the case. Our team safely got him out to go back to where it came from so we may continue working. Definitely an interesting day for SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson.
A Happy Customer in Texas, Not Tucson
SERVPRO Loves a Smiling Mrs. G in Houston After Hurricane Harvey Struck and Left the Cleanup to Us
SERVPRO Ranges Far and Wide to Help Hurricane-Ravaged Properties and People
Just another happy customer that our proud SERVPRO owner Rob Seigler had the privilege to meet and help. Better days are ahead after this horrific storm has passed.
When Hurricane Harvey caused devastating damage to the Houston, Texas area we responded as part of one of the SERVPRO National Disaster Recovery Team. Many homeowners like Mrs. G, who is standing beside me, smiled and made the best out of a terrible situation. We known the devastations on monsoons in Tucson, so we came with great empathy.
Our SERVPRO team extracted the water from her home using truck-mounted pumps, and wet-vacs even as other crew members were demolishing and tossing out to the curb all non-salvageable building materials and belongings. Our Green Fleet drove up well-stocked with industry-leading equipment to mitigate the flooding as best as possible. Just as impressive was our tireless efforts and long-hours to start to make this flooded structure Mrs. G's home again. She is a very sweet lady who enjoys doing yoga and can actually plank! Pretty soon she will be down on the mat planking again, with a smile on her face. Very impressive how she looked on the positive side of things; it was our pleasure to help in her time of need.
SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson is proud to answer the call to help our neighbors, both near and far away from the Tucson, Catalina Hills, and Redington home turf. Ready 24/7 to remove flood waters by calling (520) 760-9352.

We remodel kitchens and baths as well as rebuild homes that were previously damaged from fires, floods, and smoke damage. This is a recent shower remodel we are currently in the tiling phase of the project. There was an odd size tub that the homeowner was using solely as a shower. We added a corner bench built out of cinder block and installed a curb made out of bricks. The floor is called a Mud Set Pan which basically mean that it is all built out of concrete sloping toward the drain. Stay tuned as the completed project wraps up in two weeks.
Roof Tarping during Monsoon Season
Every year that strange phenomenon happens called Monsoon. Rain and high winds peel flat or low pitch roofs off the deck or substrate. Tarping to keep water out is tricky!!! Every roof has different pitches, angles, and crickets to divert water run-off. This homeowner suffered two water damages due to the intense storm were had this summer. Lucky this client knew right away to call SERVPRO of Northeast Tucson. Though we were receiving a high volume of emergency calls, we made it a point to rush over to this client. As you can see from the picture, we placed around 1,500 Sqft of tarp as a temporary fix. We then went ahead and proceeded with the emergency water mitigation services. Homeowner was pleased with our staff as we restored his home back into better conditions. We informed him that we are just here to help.
Does it smell like rotten meat or fish??
"Rob, I have a crises!" Said one of our previous customers. "The realtors are going to show my house in a few hours and the power went off in the garage over the weekend and it smells like rotten fish or rotten meat. I need your help ASAP!"
When you encounter a situation like this, the first thing to do is:
1. Do not panic.
2. Eliminate the source of the odor.
3. Clean all surrounding surfaces.
4. Open a window.
Some odors such as eggs or meat are called protein fires and the smoke is white. Although you can't see the smoke damage, the odor is present. We utilize ozone machines and vapor-sharks, to eliminate odor after good old fashion soap and water does not do the trick.

On no! Mold!
Mold under the kitchen sink.
When water damage does not get appropriately and immediately attended, the risks of mold growth is very high. Mold thrives on moisture and even in high humidity which can turn your single water damage to a mold remediation. It is not pleasing to think about having mold in your home but most homeowners don’t realize that mold could be lurking anywhere at this moment! One of the usual places for mold infestation is underneath the kitchen sink like in this picture. When was the last time you really inspected underneath the sink?
Mold is a problem that should be professionally handled since mold releases spores and can easily spread throughout the affected area and onto other parts of your home.
But don’t worry, SERVPRO® of Northeast Tucson is here to help! Call for a free consultation now. (520)760-9352

“Water, Water Everywhere/ Nor any Drop to Drink”
These famous lines from Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s poem, “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” are spoken by a sailor on a becalmed ship, in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by salt water and speak to the desperation one feels when events are out of control. We at SERVPRO® of Northeast Tucson are familiar with helping property owners who feel that way and can help them get back in control with our experienced technicians and our state of the art drying equipment. We practice the Science of Drying….and we specialize in restoring your property. We are a “One Stop Shop” – a company who can dry your property, take care of your contents, and rebuild if necessary. During the Holidays it is doubly important to note that we are open 24 hours day, every day! Call us at 520-760-9352 and we will be there 24/7, 365.
What does it matter if I dry a water loss or not?
In the 90’s Mold became the Cause Celeb, especially that strain of “Black” Mold, Stachybotrys, that struck fear in the hearts of thousands of Americans. Even though that hysteria has passed, it is no joking matter to have mold growing in your home. It is true that mold spores are everywhere, but for mold to grow you have to have two things: 1) food; and 2) water. There is very little you can do to remove all “food” sources in a house, but you can eliminate the water factor. When you have a water loss, it is incredibly important to completely dry the area affected so mold will not grow. If you try to take care of it yourself, you run the risk of giving mold a chance to infiltrate your house. Why would you do that when you can call SERVPRO® of Northeast Tucson at 520-760-9352, and make sure your house is dry.
