Punctured Plumbing and Water Damage in a Tucson Home
Rely on SERVPRO for Rapid Water Removal and Restoration
We get called out to remove unwanted water from homes on a daily basis. There are many unusual and usual reasons why water soaked a carpet or collapsed a ceiling. Maybe a child left the water in the sink running while he went out for a burger with his parents or an appliance failed.
The response time to a damaging water incident in the Tucson area is crucial in mitigating losses. When water leaks inside a wall from compromised plumbing, the flow of water can be very significant and damaging. We take pride in training our SERVPRO crew members in best practices according to the IICRC paired with our ECTP--Employee Certification Training Program, an on-going means of staying up to date on the latest technologies.
The photo depicts an incident that was completely preventable. Pex plumbing is a cross-linked polyethylene tubing that is installed in much newer construction and adequately transports water throughout a home. Unfortunately, a general contractor did not use a stud-finder during a remodel and punctured one of the three tubes with the drywall nails. There was no leakage until the nails rusted and then the pressured water line spewed water inside the wall cavity. That is where we came in to remove the water, the damaged drywall with a neatly controlled demolition, and then a drying of the affected area.
Doing things right the first time, we understand the needs of our customers and strive always to meet and beat their expectations. We make them feel "Like it never even happened."
